  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a CPO '09 Genesis sedan. When I went to connect my ipod so I could play it thru the main console, I realized no cord was provided (or was not provided when the previous owner turned the car in). I have tried using ipod USB and an audio jack cable to hook-up, but with no luck thus far as the Auxillery display continues to show the iPod option unavailable to select. Finally deciding to read the Owner's Manual, I noticed a message about ipod connection may not work properly if not linked with the Hyundai ipod usb/audio jack cord, and mentioned it was an orginal part. Since this original cord is not with my car, does anyone know if I HAVE to have the Hyundai cord, or am I missing something? Thanks.

yes you do. I got mine on ebay for like $15.

part number: 96125-2L000

Thanks for confirming...I'll search ebay in the morning.

Thanks again for the help, I was able to follow the link you provided and place my order.

I have a 2009 Hyundai Genesis sedan and I am having issues being able to play music through the center console aux plug and the USB plug. I brought it to the Hyundai dealership and they told me that I needed to order the Hyundai aux cord which was $50, so I found one online for a little cheaper. Plugged it up and it is still reading the same error. It is saying that no device is connected. How are you able to get music to play through the USB plug. I can't get sound through either one aux or usb. Can someone help me with this? Any suggestions? Someone help please!!

Not sure what you mean by USB cable. Do you have an iPod, and if so what model?

I have a Hyundai iPod cable (OEM) that I paid about $30 for, and it works fine with my 5th gen iPod 80 GB in a 2009 Genesis. $50 is a rip-off, so call around to other dealers to get a quote.

You can get after-market cables on eBay for a lot less, but I can't guarantee if they work. If you get an after market cable, make sure it looks like the OEM cable.
