  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK, what am I doing wrong? I recently purchased a 2011 4.6 Genesis Sedan and as you know, it is loaded (only option is color). The car is fabulous and I plan on writing a review soon, but for now, I am having one challenge. I have tried both my iPhone 4 and my iPod and I cannot get the display to show artist or song title or track list or anything. It simply shows "next track" or "previous track". What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting I need to turn on or something?

Help!

Mike

Are you using the special Hyundai USB cable. I do not believe it will work without using the Hyundai cable that you need to buy from Hyundai.

Yes, I am using the special iPod adaptor from Hyundai. The cable consists of two plugs going into the AUX and the USB on one end and the iPod on the other.

I tried yet another iPod today (that's one iphone and two ipods) - still no luck.

Is it playing the music but just not displaying? Do the buttons on the steering wheel advance the songs?
It may just be a defective cable.

I'm on my second 4.6 tech, and in neither car did I have to set anything to get song title/artist info to display.

Did Hyundai take your car back? Weren't you having a lot of problems?

Hyundai Motor America finally made good on my original Genesis. They did so in trade, rather than thru a formal buy-back under warranty. As a result, I have a car with fewer miles on it than my original did when the problems started, with no out of pocket expense to me. I am satisfied that HMA compensated me fairly. I am completely satisfied with the outcome.
