  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am getting rid of my iphone 3G. Going to an Android Verizon. My iphone never worked well in my 2010 Tech 4.6. Very hit and miss and iphone would give you the "not compatible" messages. Sometimes it will immediately sync, sometimes it just sits there with the "wait for sync" message.

So I'm getting ready to go out and buy a new ipod nano. I have the Hyundai cord but I'm worried that I could have interface problems with the new 6th gen nano (or maybe even the 5th gen??). Anyone tried a 5th or 6th generation nano with the Hyundai interface cord?

1. hooray for switching to verizon and getting rid of crappy AT&T!
2. where can i get an interface cable? its so stupid how a regular apple cable wont work

1. I liked my iphone but AT&T coverage is terrible
2. Got my cable at the dealer (about $35) but I saw another post somewhere here where they found it on Ebay for about $15.

My AT&T Coverage is great, but then again, I don't have one of those fancy iphones, but a device that I only use for talking. (Hey remember what a phone was for??) I use a Motorola SLVR L9, and I have coverage everywhere. Even out in New Mexico where I am using Plateau Wireless Antennas.

What is terrible about about AT&T is their Customer Service, better known as Customer No Service. I have a Verizon Air Card and my Verizon Customer Service has always been great.

Why do I keep AT&T? Because they use the GSM system, and I can use my phone in Europe. I have two unlocked AT&T phones, but only the L9 is Bluetooth. The other, a V400 has been unlocked, and I can also use that in Europe by buying a European SIM Card. I carry two phones there, one with my American Number and SIM Card, and the other with a French Number and SIM card. Can't do that with Verizon, unless I buy their most expensive phones, which I refuse to do. I've told the Verizon Customer Service people that when the day comes that they switch to the GSM system, vice their present CDMA system, that will be the day I switch to Verizon.

OK, I can now answer my own question. The ipod nano 5th generation works well. I'll assume the 6th generation also works (that's the new super small one).

Too bad the Genesis interface for ipod is so crummy. Can't do much and the scrolling to get to names is a pain.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Actually the cable for BMW will also work in the Genesis, it just doesn't have the one piece connector. Bought 2 of them from Amazon for 12.99 ea shipped. I had found a used factory BMW cable that the guy wanted $60 for, decided I could probably do better, so I can only imagine what they go for at the dealer. The reason there is a double connection is due to Apple's excessive license fees. Starting this fall BMW will allow all music, data and charging thru the factory Ipod USB Cable.

The 6th generation Nano will play in the car but it won't charge. For that reason I keep my Ipod Classic in the car and use the Nano at work. For some reason Apple changed how the Nano 6thG charges. I also can't use my old wall adapter for the Nano at home, but that's a topic for another forum....

Better yet the new Ipod Touch does not shut off when car is shut off. Need to manually push the IPod on/off after car has been shut off. If not no juice will not operate until a sufficient level of battery power exists.

Also playlists take inordinate amount of time to appear - generally just list the first 16/17 songs in playlist. Takes up to 10-15 minutes before playlist becomes fully populated.

But its better than in my other cars where it isn't recognized at all.

Android X works just fine.

I have a 1 year old Ipod touch and it is driving me nuts with the Genesis.
1) Every time I start the car the Ipod starts playing, even if I had the A/V off when I turned the car off before. Hate that.
2) Takes forever to load. I go to albums and when I want to scroll down to the next 'screen' of albums listed it takes over 9 seconds to load each one. Happens every single time I start the car.
