  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

is it possible to buy a premium nav/touchscreen unit and put it in a base model?

not a huge fan of the old looking base model's unit and there are a lot of the nice looking nav units from the premium models for sale for around 100. it seem sit would directly fit as the center consoles are the same size for the most part. how much work would it be and is it even possible all together or should i just go for a double din?

In dash navigational units are not as used these days because they require you to "update" the maps and in some cases the dealer chargers for these updates. Most people are using their smartphones using apps like Waze or Google Maps.

However, having a touchscreen is beneficial if you can load Apple play or the android version that works with your particular smartphone.

However, it should be possible to install a navigation unit from Hyundai or from a 3rd party. You'll have to make sure it's compatible. Sometimes if the unit doesn't fit some people will pay extra to have a custom plastic face plate made. Price to install? It varies but if you're good with electrical stuff you can definitely do this on your own.

You say "should". Do you have specifics? No one here yet has done it to my knowledge

I was wondering this as well. I have a 2012 Genesis and I see that 2013 is when the touch screen was introduced replacing the knob for the premium model during my model year. I see a couple of scrap places that have ‘13 Genesis’ so I’m thinking I might just buy it and try to put it in and see what happens since it’s only be like 100 bucks, and since it’s the same generation it should work right?
