  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is the Genesis service experience truly lacking vs luxury auto makers?

Alfa dealers treated us like Dodge caravan owners. I guess I don't need a massage at my dealer or expect free Starbucks when I go for an oil change.

We also had the same complaints about the Giulias. Lots of complaints about random shutdown... I had 2 myself.

I bought my 4th Genesis 10 days ago. It has a bounce, presumably in the tires, and steering wheel vibration. They serviced it once. Apparently they balanced the wheels. The G80 still bounces and vibrates. Managers there have not returned my calls. I obviously made a mistake by buying from this dealer. The dealer is Safford in Springfield, VA.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
You can take it to any dealer.

Have you checked the tire pressure? Vehicles get shipped with overinflated tires and sometimes in prep dealers forget to adjust the air to recommended pressure.

Yes. After the first trip to be serviced the tires were showing 36 psi each, after driving for 6 miles. My manual shows that they should have a cold pressure of 38 psi. The 36 would be correct for 18" wheels, but my Prestige is supposed to have 20" wheels. At lease all were inflated identically. I don't know if the small difference would matter or not, but I told the dealer about it. My car was picked up this morning for its second trip to be serviced. I suggested that they simply take the wheels off of a G80 on the lot and put them on my car, then drive it. If the problem goes away, something is wrong with the rims or tires (Pirelli). If it still vibrates, the problem is probably in the drive shaft, U-joints, or torque converter.

Dealership should be looking for a possible out of round tire. It can happen. When on a spin balancer they should be able to lift the wheel cover while the wheel is coasting down and see if they see a flat or out of round issue with a tire? If they are balanced correct and no out of round issue can be seen while on the balancer, your bounce issue may be somewhere else. The idea of temporary swapping tires with another from the dealers lot is a good plan if the dealer will do such. Keep us informed what they figure out?

They are sending it back and told me to let it "settle in." I think that usually means they either don't know what to do or don't want to be bothered. I will see how it goes.

I worked in the tire business for over 30 years. The best way to eliminate your issue is to contact the tire manufacturer customer service. You will get more help that way.
