If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

TN sales tax and such add about 10% to a car price. I want a Yellow 3.8 Track AT w/navigation that lists about $32. I am thinking about $30K OTD including everything. This sound reasonable for a 2010 this time of year? Am I paying too much or just dreaming of getting that deal?

I am not up on any special offers yet on 2010 models.

Opinions please!

Bump. Can anyone help here?

I got mine in December and paid 29 pretty much. So mid summer, not to bad I have the 3.8 track no navigation in it as well so I'd jump all over that.

$28k - $29k seems to be the norm.

Wait till the new year;by then any 2010 model that's still left
on the lot will have depriciated and you can
negotiate(even if it's "brand new"). I've never paid sticker
price for any new vehicle I've bought. I like waiting till the
very last minute so that the dealership has to
get rid of the old inventory.YOU can always play
the waiting game;however the dealer doesn't have that luxury.
If you can get a rebate on top of the depreciation that would knock down
the price even further(get all the details about the rebate).Another thing you need to know-
do not pay for processing fees and shipping fees.
Usually the mother company reimburses each dealership for the shipping/receiving of the vehicles
(why should you pay for something twice?)As far as processing is concerned, they already pay
someone for that(paperwork comes with the territory;again, why should you
pay twice for the same thing?)If they don't seem willing to budge or compromise, just walk away.
They need your money more than you "need" their product.

Hello All,
I'm totally new to this forum and I have been shopping around for a new genesis 3.8 (ONLY).

Please bear with me if you think I'm asking hte same Q. But some opinion would help me big time.

I have one quote for a 2011/V6/Black/Saddle with prem package for 32.5K. Is this a good one?

On the other hand I have a 2010 with same trim and color but with a tech package for 36K. I didnt' want to go for 2010 as I read on some forums that 2011 has new suspension / steering / BMW like gear shift etc etc.

Any opinion or advise will be greatly appreciated. My current car is old and about to die...so want to purchase in a month or so at the latest....

Thanks

Hello experts,

Can any of you throw some light on this?

Thanks

I thought what I read was that the 2011 was about the same except for some different trim around the interior and a few other minor things. The 3.8 Track model is what I have been seeing for myself. The sticker on those is only 32 and change at most. Your mentioned price seems really high to me.

Hi,
thanks for the input. So are you saying the sticker price is only 32K+ on 2011 vs 33000 on 2010?

Also which one did you say is high. the 2011 w/ prem package for 32.5? or the 36K 2010 w/ tech package (approx 6K lesser than MSRP)?

In anyways I think I will take the advise and wait for some more time....

Thanks

The 2010 yellow 3.8 Track w/manual and navigation was $31,440 list including freight.

About the only option to be had is the automatic transmission which adds a few hundred to it. I have yet to see any Genesis Coupe for over %32,400

I took a picture of the window sticker...

If you're going for this particular coupe DON'T PAY the sticker price of the last column.
When this 2010 is still on the dealer's lot in January of 2011,it will have depreciated by several $$$ grand.
Also,as soon as you were to drive this off the lot it will have deprecitated by at least 20% !!
I know this car is selling well and there is a demand for it,
but at the end of the year they must get rid of their old inventory
or the dealership may miss out on bonuses and incentives.
The risk factor for anyone who waits is that the car you were
checking out might be sold because someone else was
willing to pay what the dealer wanted. It's up to you.

Is the 2011 you're considering a Track edition or Grand Touring? Does it have nav? What's the sticker? There's no rebates, but I'm discounting $2195 from MSRP. I'm guessing dealers in the rest of the country are capable of the same.

Ok forgive me if someone has already posted this. I habe a bad headache abd am not seeing straight.

A genesis that lists for 32K has approx 1800 dollars between dealer cost and window sticker.

What you could expect is to pay somewhere from 300 to 500 over what dealer cost is.

Go to KBB.com spec it out and it will give you sticker and dealer cost.

The next thing you have to remember is there is usually a 6 to 7 hundred dollar dealer fee (for processing which is bs but they will not take it off)

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Track 3.8 Manual = 31,660.00
Dealer Cost = 29,696.00
_________
1,964 difference

You may get it for = 30,196
add tax dealer fees then minus incentives which I think is 1,000 cash back.

You are looking at about 31,000

There are other things that affect dealer costs such as the number of cars they buy and incentives or rewards for selling a high number of cars etc. There is a lot more than the published invoice price to be considered.

I sold cars for quite a while. Cost is Cost no matter how big or how many cars are sold. Incentives are one the website,
here are your incentives

# $1,000 Valued Owner Coupon Offer (8/3/2010 - 8/31/2010)
# $1,000 Competitive Owner Coupon Offer
If you qualify for both

You said the car you were looking at was 32K Auto? Manual?

Minus your incentives 30,0000
Minus 1400 for the dealer to make a profit @ 500 over cost
28,600
2,002 Tax 7%
600 Dealer Fee
31202 Total
Plus Tag and Title

I do not see it happening for 30 OTD.

If you do Awesome.
