I bought this 2009 4.6 half a year ago. I’m crossing my fingers.

Does it sound like a ruined engine!?

Ditto. Along with some out of adj valves/rockers/followers/tappers. Whatever that particular engine uses.Good luck with that.

Sounds mostly normal to me compared to my engine. My 2015 5.0 V8 engine fuel injectors makes a similar ticking sound as well.

Most direct injection engine fuel injectors tick loudly like a diesel engine. The last few directed engines I owned (VW,GM,KIA,Hyundai) all sound like that. Tick,tick,tick. Really sounds bad at drive-thru lanes when the fuel injector ticking sound vibrates off the walls.

I really appreciate your post. I’ve listened to some videos and can hear ticking in other engines that sound normal too. I might take it to dealership service just to see what they say.

Now the liner on the sun roof is leaking and staining the top... I love this 2009 4.6 but damn!!!

Easily fixed. Turn the radio up louder.

The clicking sound in the video is just the fuel injectors and sounds normal.
