Must be that the implementation of auto hold has improved a great deal since your model year. I leave auto hold on all the time. I never even notice that it is on when I press on the gas.I'm on my third car with it. I don't feel any delay at all. When traffic creeps up a few feet, I stay where I am. I don't see any advantage to move three feet, it won't get me home any faster.
The lights here are longer than most and not having to keep my foot on the pedal is a nice benefit.
One thing I do dislike is that when ISG is on and it suddenly turns on at a light. If I am on a slight incline, the engine starting is rough enough to knock me out of auto hold and my car will start to roll into the car in front of me. Very disconcerting!
