  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is my1st post on the forum. I've been lurking for quite some time and was waiting for a smoother ride before purchasing. Finally the word was out the 2012 would fulfill my wishes, but after looking for months I couldn't find a 2012 4.6 within a 200 mile radius of my town. While returning from a Doctors appointment with my wife in early October we passed a Hyundai dealer and I asked her if she cared to stop in and see the Genesis again as she hadn't been in one in over a year. I knew there were a lot of 3.8s around as I had test driven a few and she could get the feel of the new model. She had been on my case to get the Genesis because she knew I wanted one for 2 years but I was holding off for the smoother ride and now that I was ready to buy she couldn't believe I couldn't find the 4.6. We went into the dealer and inquired about a Genesis and the salesman said he had an R-Spec and I said no I didn't want the sports model I wanted a smoother ride. He said when he came in that morning he saw a delivery rig in the rear of the Dealership and he would go down and take a look. A few minutes later he drove up in front of the show room with a White 4.6 Genesis still covered in delivery paper and plastic molded wheel rim protective covers.. Now the only request my wife had was that she wanted the color White as she was tired of all the gray, beige and silver cars we had and I refused to get black which was her first choice. Me I wanted the 4.6. The salesman got out of the car as we exit the showroom and said, "I've got one, just came off the delivery truck but unfortunately it's a V-8 and White". We started to laugh and told him not to worry about it lets talk business. By late that afternoon I was driving home in my Brand new White 4.6 Genesis sedan. IT WAS MEANT TO BE.
I scratch that WE love the car. I've been happy with a lot of vehicles I've owned in the last 50+ years but am enjoying this one the most. I winter in Florida and drove about 1400 miles to get to my winter abode and it was the most pleasurable drive I've taken over the years in my trips from NY. Unfortunately, I left the Genny down there and flew home for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Happily I'll be back there Friday.:D:.....
For any of you out there waiting to buy, make the plunge you'll love this vehicle.....
I want to thank all you guys on the forum for your informative discussions and pricing tips.
I would also like to wish you all a

Very Happy, Healthy and Wealthy NEW YEAR.

P.S. Of course it was winged 4 days later...

Great post and story.

I have my 2012 white 4.6 that is "winged" and I absolutely love it. I often get asked what kind of car is that and my response is - Genesis 4.6! Most think it is a Lexus or MB, or some other imported luxury car.

Enjoy your ride and Happy New Year to you too......

Congratulations! I think you will enjoy the car even more over time.

I'm amazed at how much better the Genesis fits my needs than the 2011 5-series I traded. It has ample rear seat room which I needed, a trunk that is not only large, but has a functional shape and useable opening, a spare tire and jack set, non-run flat tires, and a navigation system that is fantastic, when compared to others I've used.

Enjoy your new car.:welcome:
