I'm no longer a Genesis owner.
My 2011 4.6 was a replacement for my 2009 4.6 w/Tech package. The first vehicle had a series of problems with the entire Driver Information System. Eventually, it had a total of 5 amplifiers and 2 head units, and the problem was never resolved. HYundai Motor America and the dealer I bought it from treated me like crap through the process - until I eventually emailed the President of HMA. From the moment I hit the send button, it was less than a week before I had an incredible deal on a brand new car.
Unfortunately, that car exhibited exactly the same problems as the first one, and much the same problems that many of you have experienced. Rather than go through another 9 month Lemon claim, I traded the Genesis and cashed out the equity.
I did stay Hyundai, however. I got a loaded 2011 Sonota for me, a 2005 Kia for my soon-to-be college graduate son, and $7K cash back.
I'll miss the Genesis. It's the first car in a long time that excited me to drive. If they get it all worked out, I'll be back. Otherwise, I'll wait for the other two tax deductions to graduate college - then I can afford a loaded Equs!
