  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey folks! Anybody else receive the J.D. Power and Assoc. surveys about your Genesis? I actually received two within the last week. Just as I was about to throw the second one away, I realized that some of the questions were different. So I completed them both and dropped them in the mail. The surveys were pretty extensive and took about 15 minutes each to completely answer the questions. Not too bad in order to get some info out there. Oh, I almost forgot, they inlcuded a dollar in each survey as a thank you!

It'll be interesting to see the results of the surveys once they are published. There's been a lot of discussion on this board about what percentage of owners have experienced disappointments with their new Genesis (the suspension is probably at the top of that list). The survey results should provide some clarity.

For those of us who are still "on the fence" on whether to pull the trigger on a Genesis purchase, that information, along with Hyunadai's plans for the suspension on the '10 model, will be the deciding factors.

got one last week. didn't take 15 minutes to fill out though as i have no complaints what so ever about this car.

Good point about the 15 minutes I claimed it took to fill out the surveys. Maybe an exaggeration as I too had no complaints! ;)

I also just received the survey. It didn't take me to long to fill out as I also have no complaints with the Genesis. I do love this car. All the power I need. I have 7500 miles on it right now and will be changing to synthetic oil in the next few days.

I have received two surveys, about a week apart from each other. Glad to help the cause, especially since they pay so well!!!

Us Canadians get a survey from some more obscure marketing company (not JD Power) but, get this, we get a cheque for $2!

I guess our opinion is worth twice as much! :D

The canadians have to fill out the section on DRL's which we don't get. So they should receive more.

It's actually a really poor generic survey. Even asks us if the Genesis we have has AWD, covertible top, manual transmission and a bunch of other really stupid things.

But it's only $1.54 USD.

i have found that you can't compare money. it doesn't represent anything tangible at the end of the day.

you have to make this comparison using beer!:D

how much beer does $1USD get you in the US and how much beer does $2CD get you in canada? now that is the real question....

Sent the survey back.

I had three complaints. Two were regarding the navigation system (one of them being the way-outdated map), and one was brake fade.

But this is a superb car and I gave it extremely high marks.

Got the survey and for the most part love my 4.6 Genesis. I got the dollar..........invested it........ and now have a dime left lol!

Those who've received two surveys, how do they differ?

Is one on the car itself, and one on the dealer?

I think they both were car specific. Just some of the questions appeared to be a little different. The questions almost seemed to overlap in my opinion, maybe just worded differently. I thought after mailing that I should have made copies.

It's possible that one was part of their regular study, while the other was a special study with additional questions funded by Hyundai. Not sure why they'd send them both out at the same time, though.

Both were definitely from J.D. Power, right?

No idea. Both were J.D. Power. They both included a "Thank You" dollar bill. I almost threw the second survey away as I was sure it was a duplicate. But after giving it a quick once over, I determined it did contain some different questions.
