  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

JB4

I thought about it changing the plugs to something better, like HKS M45iL and gap them to .022
So far, I put ~8k miles on OEM plugs and all is good.
As for E85 blend....Terry said I could try ~20% e85 with 93 octane and start with Map2, then switch to Map3. I didn't try it yet. I still have a can of Boostoctane and can add some to make it 98+

Very good to know!

Far as plugs go if I swap to let’s say the HKS or Denso iridium’s they shouldn’t be gapped closer to prevent the spark from being blown out. They sell some gapped close and the tips are fragile unlike normal NGK etc plugs you can change gaps.

Def will go to the forum you mentioned for more fine details but from experience I would only start at Map3 using 40% blend of E85 and 93+.

I use the brand called Race Gas as my booster in my drag cars I use on street for cruises or meets and C&Cs. Check it out and let me know what you think, it’s has no fluff, just straight boosting of pump gas octane

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Well, there goes my full e85 blend fun lol.

When I had my 2018 G80 sport, I run JB4 on it for 3 years without any issues. The plugs recommended by Burger Motorsport were Denso and gapped to .022 Like I said, no issues at all. After 3 years, I switched to a tuned ECU by Lozic. He recommended HKS, no gapping. Run it for almost 2 years with zero problems.
Ask Terry about mixing e85. Do some pulls, log in and send them over for evaluation.

These JB4 maps for the 3.5t running update 4 need a little work they need to be fine tuned/tweaked whether the fuel map is connected or not.Just about everyone has the same issues surging, hesitation, turn signal camera flickering.By no means is this tuner smooth.Terry/JB4 has some more work to do.

Make sure the 3rd. connector is plugged in and you'll see the "surge" is gone. I'm running latest firmware, which was released like ages ago (lol) but it's much better than before.
I agree...the tune needs some "polishing", but I'm afraid, they won't be doing anything else in near future or ever. They don't have/own this car. The last time they had one in their shop, was one of our members that "donated" his GV70 3.5tt and let them work for about a week. That is it.

My best time 0-60 ....4.58 sec. Map3 │~98 octane │1/4 mile - 12.94 sec.

Wow, these things are Duds even tuned up?

I plan to order the JN4 now and maybe add a meth kit and do an exhaust dump near the car stream. Looks like E30 or just some 100 octane unleaded pump but still feel it’ll fall short of the dollar per power it’ll give.

How quirky is it to deal with daily, the bugs that they won’t fix?

You can’t send them logs for a tweak request?
I used to send my M5 and M8 logs when I had issues a few years ago and they fixed it all. Maybe cause that platform is saturated with users?

i only got 16,9 boost from the stock 15 i was on sport+ and map2 so i don’t i feel that much of a difference i believe the engine has high potentials the power i got from jb4 not as expected specially after trying jb4 on bmw

I thought it could go to 20psi? With E30 of course. Didn’t they claim 100awhp?

You’re not kidding bro!

What I want to find and I probably have to look on the JB4 forum is:
What is the magic ingredients or stages for this platform in the 3.5T?

Example: JB4 on map2 is stage 1
Or on Map 4 you will need e30 blend and 1 step colder plugs to get idle results?

Or map6 you will then need to add the intercollegiate elbow with WMI to cool the charge for max effect?

Hope it’s been done already so we can choose wisely and keep this junk box from puking oil etc like some of the others do with this brand.

Finally had time to get my first run in with a JB4 and Map2 with 1/2 tank of 94 + a can of VP 4 pt booster.

Anyone try to set a baseline and then a record for the fastest GV70’s yet?

I’d like to know who has pushed it the most so far. This seems very good for a first shot well, best of my 4 runs today at least.

JB4 owners for the 3.5.

Do any of you know how to change the throttle % where the JB4 kicks in?

When my pedal is only 30% I see the throttle goes to 100% and create massive boost creep.

Is there any setting to change the JB4 to not kick in until at least 60% pedal input???

Are you planning on installing UHP tires to go with all that extra HP? That was my first mod, and this thing can put the power down in stock.

It’s funny, but I find myself using Comfort mode 95% of the time. I’ve gotten used to the throttle and I prefer the steering response.

I wish that the delta between Sport and Sport + was larger, ie, that Sport would be a little bit less aggressive, other than that, this is the most well engineered ride I’ve ever owned. Danke Herr Biermann!
As the oem tires are W rated I don’t think I need “ultra high performance “ tires. I can’t see me exceeding 168 mph.

How are the results form the tuner kit going. I like one, but dont need any headaches and low power gains...
