Just “ordered” a GV80. What’s your experience?

I put a deposit on a Prestige 3.5 GV80 after I discovered that there aren’t any for thousands of miles around me. I know that my vehicle isn’t being built just for me, but that my local dealer happened to be getting the exact one I want. While I’m biding my time waiting for the early October arrival date, tell me about your ordering and delivery experience. Did your vehicle arrive earlier or later? Were you able to track progress or your salesperson just updated you? Any problems encountered?

I actually had ordered 2 GV80's at 2 different dealers, deliveries were 5 - 6 months out (August and September 2021). While waiting I continued to query inventories within a couple of hundred miles of my home and managed to find a match in April and bought that one.

Did your ordering contract specified the price? If so, was it MSRP without incremental dealer uptick?

That’s insane. I’ve been looking all over the US and that is the highest price I’ve seen quoted. You can get better, esp if you’re willing to travel.

Continue searching while you're waiting, Genesis.com, cars.com, autotrader.com, cargurus.com. Set up a query and it's real easy to check every few days. I found mine that way before the Dealer even knew it was delivered to his lot. I had 2 on order when I bought the one I have now. One of the ordered cars just came in last week but I've been driving my GV80 since April.

Use the find a dealer function on the Genesis website. Go through each and every one as far as you’re willing to travel. Contact each dealer with what you are looking for and be prepared for a deluge of emails and texts the next business day. Even if the dealers don’t have what you are looking for, they can see what they have coming in. That’s how I found mine.

When I was checking through the Genesis website it only showed inventory within a 250 mile radius.

Just change the zip code of where you’re searching to expand the radius.

It still only searches a 250 mile radius from the zip but with the car sites you can search a larger radii or the whole country with one search then display by near to far, price, etc.

Is it really that hard to find a GV80? I just did a search on Genesis.com and 68 2.5 RWD Prestige Trims show up in the search. The dealer that I bought my G80 at 7 mos ago has 52 GV80's in all variety of trims in their search system as well. I'm in Miami, FL.

My wife hates her Infiniti QX60 and loves my G80 and we are coming up to the end of her loan and I'm doing some research into the GV80.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm looking for a particular combination (3.5 silver prestige with beige/taupe interior). I expanded my search to Florida and was amazed how many dealers there have.

When I bought my G80, i reached out to about 10 dealerships within about 100 miles of me in order to get the best deal. I reached out to the same dealer where I bought my G80 and the initial quote on the GV80 was not nearly as good.

So update: I texted my sales guy last week hoping he was going to tell me the vehicle is on the way (orig due 10/4/21). Instead, he told me it's been pushed back another month, he didn't know why, and so sorry.

I started searching the Genesis find a dealer option and looked beyond where I did previously. Found a bunch in Florida but it was Eric Chelly's post on this forum that did it. He mentioned he had a bunch of GV80s in all configurations. I contacted him and sealed the deal yesterday. My car is getting shipped this week. I highly recommend him if you're having trouble. He's with King Genesis in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Good luck... King had the 2nd best offer that I had on my G80 in February. I spoke with Eric and he was very helpful.

they are like 72000 sticker near me ,,,,,use to be 68000 loaded when new ones come in they have a higher sticker
