  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just drove an Audi A6

yeah, it's tempting to compare the 333 HP of the 3.8 to the 310 HP of the Audi supercharged 3.0, but in reality, the Audi is much stronger, mostly due to the higher output (both HP and torque) at lower RPM.
0-60 for the Audi is around 5.1 s, so it's faster than the Genny 4.6, and it certainly felt a bit faster when I test drove the A6.

Understood, but .5, or even 1.0 second, is meaningless to me. My 3.8 is a rocket by most standards. We 3.8 buyers are not straight line obsessed and we luvs regular gas!

.5 of a second means a lot to me because that is about the time lapse a 1 ton pickup missed T boning me after I floored it to get out of his way when he ran a stop sign.

I've always been a little uneasy with Audi's, as they're near the top of "Monday models".

While I don't care for most of them, if I lived some place where I needed AWD, I would seriously consider them. Hyundai's used to be dogsh*t, now they are totally fine.

I can confirm that the 3.0 SC Audi is faster than the 4.6. My buddy in the A5 Convertible had me by about a car length in acceleration off the line up to 70ish.

if your buddy had the A5 convertible, than he dusted you in the 2.0T (turbo). the 3.0T (supercharged) is in the S5 and available in the A6. still a great looking car.

that would be embarassing, a 2.0T beating a 4.6L V8, and the A5 vert isn't that light.
i just checked, and you're right, the A5 convertible only comes in 2.0T, at least for years 2010-2013.

My mistake, it is the S5. Don't know where I got the 'A' from. Basically I have two friends, both have black S5s, one convertible FI V6, one NA V8.
