  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Considering the issues some of us like to complain about with our Genesis, I thought it might be fun to post comments from other forums with complaints about other cars.

Check out this one

Well having had the suspension collaps at the back, now I have had the full height option as well...

I thought my head was going to bounce through the roof. My head felt as if my brains were going to be turned to mush.

My dealer says 2 days to get the part, and now it is at 63000 in less than 2 years they will pay for the part but not the labour.

How about this one..... poor guy

Hi

Has anyone experinced any odd noises from the air suspension on a LS 430?
I have had a 2005 model with standard air suspension june last year and the car has always been noisy at the front on motorways.

I put this down to the tyres, Dunlop SP9000, which a number of people have quoted as being a noisy tyre.
Changed the front tyres today, the tyre noise has all but gone but i can still hear this rumbling sound from the front of the car.
This may sound daft but it sounds like a cheap vinyl football being hit with a stick or bat, a low pitch hollow ringing.

both front wheel bearings have been checked as have all the bushes and ball joints, I dont get the same sound from the back suspension only the front.

can anyone shead any light on this before i talk to lexus who will no doubt be only to happy to replace the front suspension units.

Thanks in advance

I purchased a new 2002 S430 in March 2002. I have had the air
suspension replaced twice and it has gone out for the third time as of today. I
have had to have the entire electronic dash replaced and the battery replaced
twice. This car is optioned out and sold for 100k. This is by far the worst car
I have ever owned.

Lets not leave out Bimmers

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 750i

Summary:
This is the worst car I have ever owned! I would never in my life buy another BMW. The car spent 1 month out of the first three in the shop and still doesnt work. BMW assist has never worked. 2 weeks into owning the car I went outside to start it and nothing. had to be towed. they still cant tell me what happened or why. they said the car wouldnt work because of the tint on the back window. they stripped the tint and left glue on the window and the car still never worked. Terrible CAR!!!!

Strengths:
ride when the car starts

Weaknesses:
Electronic, Lights, BMW ability to fix problems, Advantage Midtown in Houston has terrible customer service!!!

Another Happy Bimmer Customer

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 BMW 740il with Sports Pkg.

When I bought mine, I didn’t bother checking out other luxury cars because I think BMW is the best and the most satisfying to own and drive. Well, not really. My brother and his wife own both the 2000 S430 and the 2001 L430. When they went out of the country for vacation, I had a chance to drive these other 2 cars (they said I could drive it) for 3 weeks. Only then that I realized why didn’t I check these other 2 cars, (especially the Lexus) before I went to get the 740il

Weaknesses:
Before considering this car, I suggest you check the following: Engine noise, harsh ride, firm unsupportive seats, lumbar support, climate controls are very small, bad stereo, useless cup holders, inside plastics can be easily scratch permanently, wandering and light less precise steering, sudden brakes the pull to one side, very small narrow trunk, backseat seatbelts position, vanity shade that can't be push all the way to the side, mysterious rattles and too many expensive things to go wrong.

Here's one for Infiniti

The G37 is high up on my list of favorite cars, but that doesn't mean it's right for everyone. I love the G because it's a sports car at heart -- fast, agile, and a lot of fun to drive. But with that comes a hard ride -- in the case of the Sport model, a harsh ride -- and a lot of noise, which can get unpleasant on long trips. Larry Dominique, Infiniti's Vice President of Product Planning, has a great analogy for Infiniti buyers: "They don't just want to take a cruise. They want to ski behind the boat." That's all well and good, but if your idea of luxury is laying out on the promenade deck with an exotic drink in your hand, you might be better served by something a bit less sporty and a bit more refined -- a Lexus IS or ES, a Mercedes C-Class, or a Hyundai Genesis.

And Lexus does it again

Out on the road, the GS 450h is more high-speed cruiser than canyon-carving four-door sports car. The electric power steering feels numb and artificial on center at moderate speeds, but does weight up when going around turns. Our tester came with the $3,400 Power Active Vehicle Stabilizer and run-flat tire package that we’d recommend skipping. Just like on the SC 430, the combination of soft Lexus suspension and the rough-riding run-flat tires create a bizarre mix of cushy and jarring. It’s like mounting one of those Swedish foam mattresses on a granite box spring.
