Just got a new 2010 4.6

First of all, a little background. In November of last year we came from a 2006 Infiniti M35, standard suspension, to a 2009 Genesis 4.6 w/tech package. And yes, I felt it had, for me, a small low speed suspension issue, but after 22,000 miles, not enough to worry about. The car has been flawless. We also have (had, after last night) a 2006 Acura RL that was coming off lease. Last night we took delivery of a 2010 Genesis 4.6 w/ tech package. Now I’ve only had a chance to put about 40 miles on it, but I knew the moment that I drove it out of the dealer’s showroom that they had fixed the suspension problem. The small bumps seem more muted, damped, if you will. If I had to put a percentage on it, I would say 65% to 70% . Nice going Hyundia!! The highway ride hasn’t changed either, although, I only had it out for a short run last night just to make sure the wheels wouldn’t fall off (Ha! Ha!). Other than that, It seems to be the same car on the inside. Changes: 1) Buttons on the steering wheel have changed because of the new cruise control and 2) the steering wheel, itself, is now smaller in diameter and 3) the new electronic parking brake control ( the jury is still out on this one) and the hill hold button next to it ( I haven’t tried this one yet). 4) The Nav is NOT touch screen, as someone earlier posted. It is the same as the 2009 and my least favorite of the three cars. I think the touch screen is only on the base V8 and V6 (?). The interior of both cars are black, the only difference is the 2009 has brown leather on the dash and the new one came with black. Sorry this post was so long.

Well, I visit my local dealer last Sat to check out the Equus. And they told me the 2010 won't take delivery until this Dec. Well, the dealer is the same one I got issue with (different city location) I had like months ago.
Well, if Hyundai didn't fix the dealer or upgrade its Customer Service.... I will see a lot of Potential buyer will leave.......

I compare what I got in the same day with my BM dealer. They are just polite and willing to spend time to discuss and explain a situation. I got a cool start problem in my 335xi and they eventually do a full check and discovered a fuel bump issue and get it fixed in 2 days.

Thanks for the report. You're definitely one of the first with a 2010!

You're right that the Technology Package doesn't have a touchscreen but the optional Premium Navigation on the V6 does as well as the base V8.

The black leather on black interior was available on the 2009 (I have one), and I assume the 2010 will have both saddle and black inserts as different interior combinations just like the 2009 did.

Welcome aboard, Jeff! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis! Wait.. Do you have two now? A 2009 and a 2010?

The Infiniti M35 and Acura RL are two very different cars.. Maybe you can do a comparison with these and the Genesis when you get some time.. The RL is really comfortable.. How does the Genesis compare to it regarding comfort?

Thanks for your feedback and congrats on your purchase! I hope you enjoy many miles behind the wheel of your new Genesis. BTW, are you 100% certain the steering wheel is smaller? That seems odd, because at some angles the steering wheel can cut off the top of the gauges. If it truly is smaller it may pose a gauge visibility problem for certain drivers.

Yes, the steering wheel is smaller. It's the first thing i noticed when I got into it.

Smaller steering wheel diameter is cool. A lot of other neater cars have the smaller diameter wheel, much more fun to drive.

I'm wondering if they have upgraded the audio system to allow bluetooth audio streaming and the address book transfer? At least it was mentioned in their press release for 2010 models. However, not very sure if it is only for the Touch Screen Nav OR both of them will get the upgrade. It would be nice if you can help to clarify that

Hmmm. Revised spring/shock rates, and revised bushings.

Hi, just drove the 2010 genesis sedan at hyundai riverside....imo it really does feel different.....much more control over bumps....the ride feels more glued to the ground...i think it feels even more like a sports sedan then before...the tech could not or would not really tell what the difference in parts were....i also felt there was less felt throught the steering wheel......still suprised theyleft the dunlops on the car..............the sales people really did not seem to know much or anything about the changes......they could not even find the car on the lot at first................

Just drove the 2010... 4.6 w/tech. They killed the porpoise. (Was that insensitive to our underwater allies?)

Seriously.. and I have to say (as a former BMW owner) the handling is sportier. Somehow, they made it corner flatter while maintaining a comfortable ride. Well done! Amazing what you can do with just some adjustments. (On the same rubber no less).

I think you'll have to retrofit your existing suspension components for the revised 2010 parts.

I'm glad to hear they've seemingly improved an already great (IMO) vehicle. Hopefully Hyundai takes care of you guys who have had issues w/ your suspension and reimburses you for the new parts. Hang in there!

Something makes me thing they won't spend the time and money to fix the 2009 when they can just go out and sell the 2010 instead and wait for the 2009 to come off lease or have the owners trade out into the 2010. They still need to fix their dealership issues, especially with the Equus coming
