  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

20180824_130738.webp Just bought a 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate on Friday and am absolutely loving it. When I saw the 2015 advertised in 2014 I immediately turned to my friend and said, "That's my next car in 4-5 years".

Went back and forth on Empire State Grey, Montecito Blue, and Ibiza Blue. Always kept thinking how awesome and rare the Ibiza is and set out to find one. I think I overpaid but it was close by and the right trim etc. And I had been looking for months. I wanted the ultimate trim for the HUD/power trunk and man, I'll never get another car without a HUD it's so useful! I've gotten lots of compliments on the wood trim too.

FYI it has 42k miles on it and it is a CPO. I paid 26.6k, ~29k out the door. I nearly went down to Miami to buy a 2015 Ibiza 5.0 non-ultimate CPO as it was listed for 27k and only had 19k miles, but I knew I would regret not getting what I really wanted.

Dream car acquired :D

Agree with you on that. Plan a fairly long ride and enjoy yourself. You won't get tired so quick the way it rides.

I drove about 3 1/2 hours to pick it up in my aging 2005 Altima 3.5 SL. My legs and back were kinda sore by the time we arrived. On the way back my buddy drove the Altima and I took the Genesis and it was night and day difference, the thigh extensions and lumbar support were amazing. I felt spry and energetic when we got back while my poor friend was stretching and groaning haha.

Looks great, enjoy!

Congrats and welcome to the family!!!

That color looks great. I prefer black but that blue color is so eye catching and unique.

I also agree that it is best to buy what you really want instead of settling or trying to convince yourself to settle for a lesser trim package. I made the mistake of convincing myself not to buy the higher trim package and always regretted it on past cars. Never again, even if I have to buy a used fully loaded model hence why I bought my 2015 5.0 ultimate.

Thanks!

Unfortunately in FL, black is only for masochists lol. I think it would be hard to keep clean with all the rain we get here too, but black does look good.

I love the black interior but I was worried about the heat and how well cracking would show up in the seats after a few years. If I had found a decent 5.0 ultimate in empire state or montecito blue with an interior that wasnt black earlier in my search, I might have bought it, but glad I took my time to learn exactly what I wanted :)

LOL. Black cars do take more work to look clean. I washed my car last week and it already starting to look dirty enough to need washing again. Lighter colors can go for longer before looking like crap. But Caspian black looks so damn good on the Genesis when clean it has no equal in my opinion. Well worth the trouble to keep clean.:)

The blue does make the Genesis look sportier while the black give it a more prestigious look in my opinion.

Agreed, I was initially settling on getting the darker colors for the more refined look, but figured since I'm still a (relatively) young guy I'd go with a bolder color. All the older people I've shown the car to (parents, senior coworkers) state they like the car but wouldn't get that color, while the younger people like the color. At least it's not that lime green color they offer in the coupe version? Lol

Yep, you only live once. Go with whatever makes you happy. You obviously made the right choice! Congrats and great color choice!

Congrats and enjoy, I always loved that color....and a 5.0...mmm

Congrats on your new ride! When I bought my 15 I had my eye on the same blue with ivory interior - was sold before I could call and ask about it. This is my third Genesis and all three have been white. I'm a bit of a clean car freak and have liked that the white looks cleaner after driving on our salt covered roads in the winter. My motorcycle (Yamaha FJR) is close to the same blue (cobalt blue) and I think its a great colour - enjoy!
