just purchased my new 2021 Genesis G80

sitting on my driveway with my new 2021 G80 Ultimate. Went to use Genesis connect and it prompted me to activate services, tried and it failed, again and again. Then prompted me to call Genesis connected services which I did 3 times waiting on hold for over 12 minuets each time. Finally got through and they said they are really busy. Had me reactivate 2x and it failed. Then has me hard restart 2 x and it failed........... Next a service ticket was written up for "engineering to get back to me" in 5-7 DAYS.......... I asked to speak to a supervisor and "no one is available, will write up a ticket and they will get back to you.

I guys this is what $62k buys you..........frustration

PS my 2nd Genesis, love the brand but now concerned about the new G80
 
Hi, first of all, welcome! Secondly, with regards to the activation, some owners have had that activated before they left the sales floor. My salesman sat down with me and with through that whole process. It can be frustrating, I know. I will say that Genesis has never had a take-rate as high as they are currently, so they may not be quite up to handling the volume of the new owners. Note that this is not my excusing it or even imply that it's acceptable, just an observation.

Yeah, I think this is something the dealership should've worked out beforehand. Wouldn't be surprised if it's somehow their fault.
 
Maybe the dealer can help? I would hope they have some special access for Genesis registrations/activations/etc but who knows. A frustrating experience for sure...especially at these prices.
I am new to Genesis and love the car but they really need to up their dealership & customer service game.
 
Called the dealer and they did a system reset, now I'm up and running. Wish Genesis Corp guided me through this better.

Too many 3rd Party Customer Support Centers! It would be nice to be able to communicate with someone who knows the product.

I also think your Dealer let you down and should have done a better job at delivery.
 
You are correct. The dealer did recognize gaps and has gone above and beyond to rectify

Took me 9 months to get the app working. Truth be told, my son was using the car from new, until he recently bought his own car. However, numerous attempts failed until I finally dug in and found a number to call. The PIN reset had to be done from the central office. Not crazy about how long it takes to start the car remotely. The app is unstable and crashes a lot. Not impressed, but it is functional.
 
I’m currently in the 3-5 business day wait period on my 2021 G80 for engineering to work on a “ticket” to wake my car. Waste of time ? Any recommendations?
Check back w dealer then may have entered wrong vin number when setting u up

Take it back to the dealer; they should sit with you through activation and confirm it's activated.
