Just purchased!

I purchased a 2013 Genesis coupe 2.0t (automatic) and I'm almost in love with the car! I've already put 1,000 miles on it.

My only concern is I was under the impression that mpg would be a little better. I'm only averaging 20 mpg (and yes, I do pump premium) - is this normal?

What's everyone else's average fuel consumption?

Any engine with a turbo - mileage will be determined largely by how much you tromp the throttle. 20 MPG for a brand new engine is not unreasonable but it should improve with break-in and gentle throttle use. You can also use a method called short-shifting to keep the revs (and gas usage) down.

Don't worry about gas mileage when you purchase a premium luxury car. My son has a E55 amg Mercedes and he knew when he bought the car it would use a lot of gas, so he never thinks about it, discusses it, or complains about it. Go enjoy your car, the cost of gas is such a small part of the total cost of ownership and the Genesis coupe is a fun car.
