  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Very frequently when I sit down with the keys in my pocket the car alarm starts going. They made it a bit too easy to press IMHO. Several times this has happened while I was outside of hearing range of the car which means the alarm was going for 15+ minutes. I feel bad for my neighbors when that happens.

It's never happened to me yet, but I try to not have anything else in my key pocket that might accidentally press on it. I also typically remove it from my pocket at home so maybe just lucky so far?

When I wear jeans I keep the Key Fob in my watch pocket and never had it go off yet. I purposely buy shorts that have watch pockets as well. Hook & Tackle sort have a nice deep watch pocket. Just a thought.

Mine goes off often just from being in my pocket. I never had this problem with my Lexus ES350 key fob.

Guy I work with has a Nissan with a remote start on his key fob. More than once we've found his car sitting running in the parking lot because he accidently pushed the button on the fob in his pocket.

Same has happened to me about 3 times, and my pockets ate not tight, and there's nothing else in my pocket. Perhaps some are more sensitive than others. In fact, having sadi that, perhaps I'll swap fobs to see if the symptom abates.

Isher hear your plight too.

Did a little looking around and I am NOT repeat NOT saying a leather fob cover WILL help with problem but thought maybe those having the problem could look and FIGURE OUT if helpful:

Is alarm system the same on all trim levels? Assume is sounds the horn. Does the horn command attention, my Maxima is a little wimpy. What kind of range do you get with the key fob? I find a long range very helpful when I lose track of my car in a parking lot. Thanks

I have accidentally pushed the panic button while my fob is in my jeans on a couple of occasions. The range for me has been pretty excellent. I can lock/unlock/open and open the trunk from quite a distance.

If you get Bluelink, there is an option on there to find your car with your cell phone. Pretty cool option.
