Hello everyone,

Brand new G70 owner. Picked up the auto on Monday. Key card is not working. I am confused from what I read. My understanding, and might be wrong, is if you what to use your phone to unlock the doors you need the key card and an android phone. However, if you wish to unlock the car NOT with phone but just with holding the card next t the door handle all you need is the CARD.

When the sales person was going over the car he said he configured the card but it was not working. He said he could take a few hours. Well still not working.

Sorry, didn't explain it well. The programming of the Key Card is done from the same sub-menu under Digital Key, the option just below the Digital Key in the list.

Phone as a key and key card are two totally different options. You do NOT need one for the other. What you need to activate a key card is BOTH fobs; that's it. That's what I did with my 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy. However, I tried locking the SF, and the key card did NOT work. Need to try if it'd unlock it. For now, I have the key card hidden inside. And yes, at least it does turn the ignition ON without a fob, like it's supposed to. But I might try it again more thoroughly one more time. Oh, and my top-trim 2023 G70 2.0T does NOT have the freaking key card menu option, so not available. Disappointed at that. The top-trim 2022 3.3T SP I bought briefly (returned it), it came with a key card already activated from the factory.

Thanks everyone. In the GV forum I saw a post where someone posted a letter from Genesis on how to program card. Here is how it reads.
Have both fobs - just like speeder says
Start Car
place key card in wireless holder
Go to setting, vechicle, key card, save.

Have not tried yet but will tomorrow let everyone know how it goes

I tried to activate my key card, by having both fobs, key card on the wireless pad and going to setup, vechicle, key card key card and save. Reported back saved but key card does not work. At least it does not lock or unlock the doors. Have to take the car in since the seat does not recline upon exit so will have them look at key card

Hey I know this is an old thread, but did you ever get this rectified? I was able to do the same as you, the key card is saved, but I can’t lock or unlock the doors. Only the ignition works. I also have to bring my car in, multiple issues, but I guess I’ll mention this too. Thanks in advance for your reply, I know it’s old news at this point.

I just bought a 2025 GV70. It came with 2 key cards. Only one worked. I asked the dealership and they said only one card can be activated at once. Is this true? It seems strange they would give me two cards knowing that one will not work.

Do you have a iphone? Im having issues with my key card saving. It says No valid device found when i put the card on there.
