  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It's called a K9, and it actually will be a bit more upscale than the Genesis.

A bit surprising considering that Kia and Hyundai are parts of the same conglomerate, especially if they aim between the Genesis and Equus as the article says.

Looks to me the Kia's plan is geared to the younger crowd.
I'm in the wrong group!!

Very, very interesting. I like the side vents and grill (pictures at the site)...

I suspect The K9 will likely replace the outgoing Amanti in Kia’s lineup.

Still... I think I'd be content enough with the Genesis. Or would I...?

You people are killing me.

Exactly- K9...it;s a dog. Looks to have the EQUUS wheels

Kia Cadenza?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The bigger car will be the CREDENZA

They better give it a different name, at least for USA market. K9 will not do well as others pointed, it immediately brings to mind a German Shepard dog sniffing for drogs or other stuff.

At first look the front of the car immediately reminded me the current horrific Acura TL

KIA had a hard time coming to America, people started to joke about it (Killed In Action cars = not good) similar to what happened to the Chevy NOVA in Latin America markets (NOVA = NO GO in spanish)

I would stick with the Genesis.

That is surprising. Our local Genesis dealership was just purchased by the local KIA dealership??????

Another sphyshot of the K9.

Considering that Kia hasn't changed over to the alphanumeric naming system in the US and that the K7 will reportedly be called the Cadenza (not exactly an improvement on K7), Kia will almost certainly give the K9 a word name for the US market.

It'll definitely be interesting to see where the K9 slots in comparison to the Genesis (esp. the 2nd gen Genesis) and Equus.

Hopefully, the K9 will come w/ available AWD and have a sleeker, more modern dash/center stack design than the Genesis and Equus.

Here is link to Cadenza video. Looks like its a Genesis under the skin. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSb4begsLkI"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSb4begsLkI[/ame]

I posted this somewhere else on the forums, probably makes more sense here:

Saw a Korean article the other day that said Hyundai-Kia Motors is going to be releasing the new Kia flagship (development codename "KH") in March 2012 as a 2013 model.

The KH will likely be named K9 in Korea, will be based on the Genesis and Equus platform, and will fall somewhere in between both models in terms of size. It will have the 3.3L and 3.8L engines (in Korea), and will offer the 8-speed transmission of the Hyundai models. Also announced was the fact that it will first be released in Korea, and subsequently to other markets (North America confirmed).

=====

Article also mentioned this model, as well as the 2013 Genesis and 2013 Equus would be released with an AWD drivetrain perfect for "snowy" climates. Remember, this release would be a KOREA release - it would probably take 6 to 12 months for the subsequent North America release.
