  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have found a few 2023 used G70 3.3T Sport Prestige models that I’m interested in. they are priced in the low $40’s which makes them attractive to me. All of them low mileage models. I have a 22 Mustang GT Premium with low miles that I should be able to get close on an even trade on. At 74 I’m looking for something with a better ride.

now, I know about the brake pad issues but are there any other known issues out there that would cause People to bail on an almost new vehicle? Thanks in advance.

Brake pad issue is very simple to solve. The more important issue that I've noted is some cars will have an oil leak/seep/stain between the engine and transmission. Sometimes it's an issue and needs to be resolved, other times no issue at all.

Some (many?) people have experienced creaks or rattles from the sunroof, so you might check for that. I believe there's a TSB regarding it.
Yeah, I'm always surprised and curious to see people selling a car after less than a year, but there's a whole bunch of reasons I guess why someone might do that.
The car does have a good ride - not too soft and not too firm. Make sure you like the seat comfort. Although most people love the seats, a few of us find the bottom seat cushion too hard and flat. I use a cheap cushion I bought on Amazon, which is a minor nuisance but helps tremendously.
Good luck!

The dark chrome trim discoloration issue on the sport models is an issue to be aware of. Not necessarily a deal breaker but worth knowing.

The restyled '22-23 seem to have a high percentage of owners reporting headlight condensation. That would be my No.1 concern. Dealers and Genesis corporate apparently would deny warranty if they find the tiniest of cracks on the lens. IMO, that's a sorry excuse to get out of their warranty obligation. Replacement headlights aren't cheap or easy to come by.

Other know issues are no biggies and most are easily rectifiable.

As for why there are so many low-miles late model G70s, a good number of them are retired loaner/courtesy cars. G70s are slow movers so some are just taken possession by the dealer to count towards "sold" units, for whatever internal incentives they have, for monthly goals, etc. There are also some that are definitely early trade-ins. I came across many of them in my hunt back a couple of months ago. Who know why folks would pay $10k for a 4-month test drive? I'm just glad they are willing to take the initial depreciation, so those of us who don't mind a previously farted-in car can get a superb deal.

Some people have issues with the after sales dealership experience. While this gradually getting resolved with standalone Genesis dealerships, you might want to check with the one closest to you. Not all Hyundai dealerships work on Genesis.

However I should add that this is very subjective and is a non-issue if you are going to work on your car by yourself.

There are also some isolated issues with rear diffs and front radars. All fairly easy to remedy and on new cars. Anything used will have the issues long resovled.

#1 issue to look out for is leaking between the trans and engine. One or both sometimes need to be pulled to fix.

Almost forgot... pre-facelift infotainment touchscreen's internal LCD panel has a tendency to delaminate. Have not heard any such cases with the '22+ post-facelift. Could be the new wider screen is not as susceptible to this problem, or... they're all still too new for the problem to manifest itself. Supposedly the problem is either caused or exacerbated by high temp, so whichever MY you choose, make sure you get a good reflective sunshade and use it to shield your dash from the hot Summer sun. This is especially critical if you live in the warm south.

Thanks for all your input but I guess I will have to wait until I can find an ethical dealer that has a low priced one available. For sure 5hat won’t be from a Keffer owned operation. This is the one from them that I was in contact with them on https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inven...startYear=2022#listing=338632028/NONE/DEFAULT

Naturally cargurus shows it as a great deal. Would have been if it was true! This is what I received when I ask for the buyer order. Must have been a new sales rep because nobody in their right mind could possible believe I wouldn’t blow a gasket when receiving it.

Did you send a screenshot showing the advertisement and ask them to honor it? I try to give the benefit of the doubt that’s it’s a clerical error, granted I’m guessing it’s an ethics issue but just figured I’d ask in case there is any way to get you that deal!

Nope. I’m done with them. Over the last couple of years I found a few of the Keffer dealerships that operate this way. Seems to be their SOP. I’m trying to negotiate on a different car with another dealer. Will know today if it works out or not. At least their buyers order matches what’s been discussed so far. My Mustang is going away today so I need something soon.
