  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Four weeks ago, before I drove up to NY, I looked up koreanautoimports.com and saw that their store is located in Phoenix. I phoned KAI at their 866-767-3686 number and talked with "April" to see if they had the part I wanted. She checked and said yes, it was in stock, but she would not be able to get it to me before I departed for NY, so I told her that I would call back once I returned to FL to order.

OK, so now that I'm back, I phoned again, and this time, talked with "Karen" who said she could not look up the part as she had to check with the warehouse to see if it was in stock, but would call me back with the information. This was ten days ago. Still has not called me back!!!!! Said their Phoenix location was just a store front, and items are shipped from elsewhere.:mad::confused:

I've purchased a fair amount of stuff from them. I have had two issues, both of which were resolved with no problem. My only gripe is that receiving the goods took a long time, but this was because in one case the items were out of stock and the new shipment had to be cleared through customs; in the second case a special order from Seoul was filled incorrectly and Sherwood had to re-order. In both cases customer service was efficient and pleasant. Overall, given the fact that their stock comes from Korea, I am satisfied with their service.

Same situation I had when I ordered the quad exhaust tips from them a year ago. Spoke with April and for two months they kept blabbing about how it takes forever to get ANY product through customs (even though I've ordered plenty of products from overseas including my new winged wheel caps and never a problem) and I kept calling, and eventually, they told me they cannot get the tips I ordered from their supplier anymore. EVEN though the same tips I ordered are still for sale on their website and WAY overpriced.

KAI=FAIL:mad:

I gave up on those bubbling idiots long time ago , they surely arent the only ones with items for the genesis

My experience with Sherwood Automotive was good then horrible. I order some Genesis Coupe Superlux Premium LED taillights for my car. Water got into them and "April" was super helpful and very understanding with a great happy attitude, she always called me back when I had any questions regarding my order or anything in particular..two weeks later some lady name "Belky" answered the phone like if she was answering her cell phone. She was rude and obnoctious. Later I was told April was let go, frankly, "BELKY" should have been the one to go. BELKY never called me back and every question I had she always rushed me off. Soo unhappy with the customer service I received from that lady.:eek::mad:

Now you guys have me worried. I just placed an order from them yesterday for 17" wheel caps/trunk lid emblem/ and steering wheel emblem. I thought I got a pretty good deal on it, $101 with shipping to NJ for all of it. Now I just hope it gets here!

Not to worry. Yes they take time and the Phoenix address is probbably nothing more than an answering service.

My order for wheel caps took 5 weeks to receive and were exactly as advertised. They responded to my e-mails concerning ship date, processing, etc. within 2 days each time I contacted them. I don't feel that that is ppor response time considering the time difference betwwen NJ and Korea, after all it really isn't life or death it's just some car bling.

Just have some patience.

Thanks!:) Just reading some of the comments had me a bit unnerved. Also, glad to see another NJ owner here.

Not that impressed with KAI. My wife ordered a rebadge kit for her Kia Soul and it arrived without the wheel caps and debadge tool. :(

While they eventually sent the caps and tool, they shipped two front badges, and since the rear is smaller than the front, one of the badges didn't fit. They sent a replacement, which was the correct size, but not the right style.

I can't figure out who is working on their pick team to put the right pieces in the box. I don't have much sympathy when they're charging $100 for 8 pieces that probably cost them a few bucks to make.

My recent experience with KAI was lousy and surreal. The person who answered my emails is called James, and from the DNS records, it seems he's the owner, since his last name is Sherwood.

Anyway, the jist of it that it took them over a month (although I requested EMS shipping) to deliver the wrong item, and when I emailed to tell them, I get into an extended debate with this guy James about why he thinks they sent the correct item (even though the didn't), and then after admitting fault, (here's the surreal part) how justified they were in sending this item because they "thought" I needed the item they sent, not the item I actually ordered!

As of now, they supposedly resent the correct item, but to the wrong address, so it's been a week with no response to my last emails asking for a refund on the reduntant EMS shipping charges I'm being bilked for by these guys. Total lousy online shopping experience time is 8 weeks and counting.

Buyer beware - www.koreanautoimports.com

I had a less than ideal situation with them as well; ordered some stuff that included an airbag unit, and when my shipment finally came, they "forgot" my airbag unit. They corrected it, but it wasn't a company I'd want to to do a lot of business with.

I must be getting old. I was in Phoenix last month, and I completly forgot to visit their location. With all the bad things posted about them, I guess I just put it out of my mind.

Bob......you are making the correct choice by eschewing KAI. :D

Had one experience with them and it was a nightmare......if you can get anyone on the phone you are lucky......placed an order and their correspondence leading up to order placement was decent. Once the order was placed it was as if they had all "left the building". Forwarded numerous voicemails and emails.....none of which was returned. After 14 days of this nonesense I had to engage Paypal....only then when forced, did KAI respond with a full refund.

Just my experience, but their post sales support was deplorable to say the least

Hello I'm contacting you here in an attempt to fix a problem I'm having. I purchased a set of super lux LEDs from you on eBay. Since then the drivers side has had 2 LEDs go out on the turn signal. I contacted you thru eBay a few weeks ago to see how we'd fix this problem with no reply. So I'm attempting to get this matter resolved. Please pm or email me. Thank you

There's a chance that an email or phone call to directly to KAI might work better than a random post to an Internet forum.

Try KDMSTUFF.COM. I purchased the entire rebadge kit including the wheel inserts for $78.00 including free shipping. They are located in eastern PA. My product arrived in S. CA in 4 days. Great service. Also, they do answer the phone if you have questions.

Well, I took a chance on this company with a $29.95 order. I actually phoned it in to a Caitlin. She said I'd have it in 5-7 days and that prior to shipping I'd receive a confirmation email and a subsequent email with tracking information. I received the confirmation email but never recieved shipping info. I called her 3 days ago and she said she passed the info to the shipping department. I still haven't heard anything. The thing tat bugs me is that they hit my card immediately. Tier 1 companies don't do that. They hit the card when the item ships. Tells me that Korean Auto Imports probably has cash flow problems. Charge the card and then go buy the item sort of thing. But it's really the lack of communication that hurts a company like this. If you're trying to build a business customer support is everything.

The fob still may come someday but if not in the next week, I'll dispute the charge which hurts them more as they can't have to many chargebacks and declines on their merchant account.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
A number of folks have posted negative comments about KAI - maybe I've just been lucky, but I have placed 3 or 4 orders and have never had a problem with them. One order was filled incorrectly, but they straightened it out immediately.
