  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

lane keep assist is great but kinda sucks too

I honestly haven't had any issues with the LKA. I don't use it in town, but I usually turn it on as I'm heading up the on ramp on long drives. It was never intended to be a system that does you're driving for you, and if you need to pull out of your lane, you should be using your signal lights anyway. Such a pet peeve of mine, is when people don't use signals. You literally just have to reach a finger out as you turn the wheel. :/

But I find it to be unintrusive for the most part, and keeps you from wandering out of the lane if you're glancing away from the road for any reason. Quite useful on those long drives where you're attention may start to wander. Never had it try to put me off the road though. If it did that I'd probably just turn it off. Hahaha.

it happened with me in my brother Mercedes E class 2016 the new one and it was close to cause an accident

Yes, you definitely need to stay "aware" on the road. It's a nice, helpful feature but that's all it is...

Agreed 100% on all counts... :)

Openpilot to the rescue, my 2015 LKAS & SCC is better than the 2024 models, thanks to openpilot.

Lane keeping assist doesn't work in my GV70 in sharp turns.
It's not meant for sharp turns. This is also the sedan sub-forum.
