  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The owners manual shows a little steering wheel ikon that is supposed to show up when lane keeping assist is working. I have that package, but I've never seen that little steering wheel, and my steering wheel is never assisting me to stay in the lane. Lane departure lines ikon and steering wheel shake work fine, just not the assist.

Go into settings and set the lane keep assist to prior. It is likely set having left the lane. Also the wheel only appears when the system can detect the lines on the road.

That I had already set on prior, and the lanes here are well marked and the lane departure warning system works fine. Any other ideas?

Is this the Steering Wheel your talking about?

Yes indeed. That is the steering wheel, and I have never ever seen that ikon on my display.

Thank you for the post of that page. I thought I had the settings right, but I rechecked it like you said, and I wasn't on predeparture in the lane keeping setup. I set it right and tried it and it now works. Thanks.

Great! I find I only use the Lane Keep Assist on the highway. Around town I find it is annoying because you cross over lanes 'normally'.

Chuck, you are old school. So am I! I once heard a comedian talking about making directional signals an option on cars.

From what I see around where I live, I think they may be an optional item, but one not often selected. :)

Signaling lane changes will prevent that. :)
So true! That said, I am referring to 2 lane roads with, etc... where you cross over the lines during the normal course of driving (e.g. bicyclist on the road, car parked, mailman, etc...)
