If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

LAP3 ECU and TCU Review

JB4 is a good place to start. I personally don't have that many mods done. Stock exhaust and stock intercooler. I just have ECU/TCU, Intakes, CPI and run on E85.

2000k budget. Grab a used Jb4, intakes and secondary downpipes. Run E30 and it will be plenty of fun. Can probably find all 3 for like 1000 bucks. Then I would get a TCU tune with the extra $$
Damn bro I didn’t realize I was talking to the world record holder. Do you still use jb4 for logging and your cpi? and damn you made that much power stock intercooler and exhaust on your record car? Where did you get your CPI kit from, and I thought you could only run e30 on stingers and g70? I also saw that you’re running a lap3 ecu and tcu tune is a reason you considered them over lozic? Also do you have a general build list posted anywhere? Thank you for your reply fr!

Yep. I use JB4 for logging and to control CPI. Yea, stock intercooler and stock exhaust. I got the CPI kit from BMS a long time ago. Mine was the first Stinger/G70 to run it. Paired with the LAP3 ECU I am able to run full E85 and not have to blend.

I have
LAP3 ECU
LA34 TCU
K&N Intakes
JB4 with CPI on full E85.

The rest is all stock. Well lowering springs I have too.

@Cashby I'm currently in the process of installing the fuelit kit and CPI (was at the point of wiring up the jb4 when it started pouring rain). How did you wire everything in the fuse box? Each device on its own spot?

Another update for the week.

Got a WMI setup installed last night. Pulled the seats out and did a really clean install running everything under the carpet. I did a little Frankenstein setup. Most of the kit is the BMS kit but intstead of using JB4 with an FSB, I am running the AEM WMI controller. Reason for this is because CPI kit already uses an FSB. I could have added another one but the way I did it was a bit cleaner and easier.

I will be doing a full write up with plenty of Data, Times and Dyno. It should help a lot of people when trying to figure out what the best setup is. The LAP3 ECU is pretty impressive on adapting quickly to the different scenarios and you can really feel the difference when going form 91 octane to E30 to E50 etc.

DYNO, Logs and Times will include:
E30: No WMI or CPI running
E30/Meth: No CPI
E50/CPI. No meth (reason doing E50 and CPI is because with E30 there is no point to run CPI as the HPFP can handle it. Higher E content will need the CPI to relieve pressure from the HPFP.
E50/Meth/CPI

Obviously I can't do E50 with just meth because the HPFP would crash without running CPI.

Stay tuned!
Hey Cash, quick question....You said that you ran the aem wmi controller cause it was easier and cleaner, but said you could of added another FSB. Do you remember how to add another FSB and what the Pin out in the DSUB would be?

I don't think you can add another FSB with JB4. that's why i went with the AEM controller so its separate from JB4.

Mind sharing your settings with the aem controller?? I’d assume like 6-8psi and around 20-22ish?

i had it set at 10psi for daily and full spray at 18psi. Then or track I think I had it at like 5psi and full at 10psi.

I had CPI at the time and was just testing WMI on top of it so I didn't go too crazy with it. After one day of testing WMI and comparing to CPI both seperate and together, I just stuck with CPI and pulled the WMI out.

Right on, appreciate the info. I got a JB4 currently, bms intercooler and CPI flex fuel kit in transit as we speak. And was thinking of throwing a WMI kit on it at some point. Reasoning being e85 isn’t always available in the northeast and I wanted the ability to be able to run WMI if no e85 was around.

Speaking with Terry, he kind of leaned towards just running WMI and then supplementing with e85 when it’s available. I believe after gathering info you can have one FSB control both meth and CPI…only caveat is you have to choose which you want to run. Essentially can’t do both at the same time. Which gets me leaning towards just going aem WMI and letting the JB4 handle the CPI.

What led you away from the WMI? Was the performance vs grenade factor to running both more than it was worth?

I have a lap3 2.5 on the way. I'm running the jb4 with the ek1 bef, have about 4 tunes from Terry, I'm impressed with what he's got but he's a busy dude and doesn't have time for what I want to do, so I just pulled the trigger for the 2.5 since I'm running methanol now, I have the lozic 3 pressure tcu the launch is shit so I use a boost harness with it which helps alot, 1.67 pb 60 foot, I'm a awd g70
