  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I spoke with these guys a few weeks ago on Facebook and they offer a wide variety of tunes for Hyundai/Genesis/Kia. Looking at their facebook page, they offer tunes for the standard 3.8, the TT 3.3 RWD and AWD, however they do not offer tuning for the 5.0. I messaged them and asked if they will develop one soon or why they haven't yet, and the response is that there simply isn't a large enough demand for them to develop the tunes. For people with 5.0 Genesis' looking for more power and better responsiveness, please follow the link and send them an inquiry or statement expressing your desire for tuningsolutions. ALSO, feel free to express your desires here and I will link this post in a message for them to see. Hopefully one of us is close enough to their shop and willing to let them modify your ECU. They look very experienced based on the vehicles they have tuned and output produced and I WANT IN!! https://www.facebook.com/Lap3usa/

My 2013 Gen 5.0 R Spec was their test mule 2 years ago. Didn't put out the expected horsepower or torque in any large amount over original ecu. My car was run on 93 premium for a few days and heavily exercised to get the original ecu to max parameters, then switched to their ECU. Best run added no more than add'l 10 hp at the rear wheels. Very disappointing to all of us. Had high hopes. But it ran very smooth and had a better air/fuel ratio at top rpms where the extra hp came in. If u noticed, this test was done in a very specific manner so the comparison results would not be skewed. This meant getting the best original ecu advance and using premium fuel from same station, etc.. Temp & humidity was same, etc.. Without doing this, your dyno results could be incorrect for the new ECU comparison over the original ECU. Their ECU was sent directly from Korea and was the latest mod version. Shop used was one that dynos & certifies NASCAR engines and is conservative in their dyno calculations. With these limited results in, LAP decided since the 3.3 twin turbo was coming on line, and they had already broken that ECU coding, it had way more potential than the heavily guarded 5.0 company ECU code and its limited sales. They did say that BTR was about to issue their 5.0 ECU but felt they were having some running issues that still needed sorting. I decided to stick with what limited mods my sleeper had and just keep outrunning '15/'16 Mustangs, Z's , '16 A & regular S audis, non moded Bimmers, etc., and watch the hot dogs with the 450++ hp engines play their own games..

I just don't see how you can make more without changing something drastic on a high compression DI motor without nitrous, or forced induction. The OEM ecu is already highly optimized for just about every situation the car will ever encounter. So not to say even remotely surprised when it only got 10 more horsepower.
