  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just noticed hairline cracks in the leather on the LH side of my 2012 Equus steering wheel.

Anyone else have this issue?

This is the first time I have seen the issue on any of my cars. I wonder if the heated steering wheel feature caused this.

If your car has less than 60k miles it should be covered by warranty.

Mine didn't have any cracking, but the leather started coming off in a spot. It was replaced no questions. I don't have the heated wheel so that may not be your cause.

My 2014 Signature with 2000 miles has developed a crack in the wooden part of the wheel, on the underside of the lower piece of wood. Going back to Hyundai on 5/28 to try and have the wheel replaced.

My great dealer replaced the steering wheel assembly after picking up the vehicle and dropped it back off after washing the car. GREAT SERVICE!

The leather wrapping Hyundai uses is every tight, as it should be, and very "dry". It dries further in usage. Best to liberally use a leather conditioner. I have a Genesis and I use Griot's product. It is pretty good. I slop this stuff on and overnite it is absorbed leaving my leather steering wheel with a "buttery" feel. I treat it about once a month.
