  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Leaving for Roswell - Will give performance report.

2. Although I have reported that the suspension "could be softer" in the Genesis, I was driving around in my best friends 09 Prius, here in Roswell. (He won it at the "Billy The Kid Casino" in Ruidoso). The suspension in that Prius is every bit as stiff as my Genesis.

I'm pretty sure the Prius doesn't claim to be a luxury car. Actually, if the Genesis suspension is anything like the Prius then I think Hyundai should be embarrassed.

OK, I'm back in Florida. Just calculated my gas milage for the entire trip. I calculated two ways. Once with every fill-up and the other by not using the highest or lowest figures.

Average was 27.48mpg (using every fill)
Average was 27.42mpg (tossing out the highest [31.7] and lowest [24.5])

The above is just for the open road, not covering city driving in Phoenix and Roswell.

Not bad for a large V8.

No squeeks - No rattles - NONE
Did not use a drop of oil - NONE
Always used 87 octane fuel.
Expressway speeds mostly between 75 and 80 mph. Never lower than 70 and never higher than 85 (except once when passing, I looked down at the speedo at it was above 100. Slowed right down)
I seem to get better gas milage out West, or at least in the higher elevations. Lower in the SouthEast.
Suspension now "seems" to be softer. Just went to pick up my dogs on a road I don't like due to the bumps, and it did seem to be softer. Could be that I am just getting used to it, or it could be that the tire pressures are now lower than when I left Florida (Nitrogen in tires), I just don't know. Even the stretch of I-20 between Fort Worth and Dallas, plus Shreveport plus Jackson seemed smoother. May just be in my mind.

Tried to check the cabin air filter and although I have the instructions on how to access it, I can't unlatch the glovebox to drop it down, to inspect the filter. Will let dealer do it with me watching to see what the trick is to drop the glovebox down.

Engine Air Filter was good (due to the "extra" filter I placed over the opening above the radiator). No red dust in the air filter, but the extra filter was loaded with red dust from the dust storms I went through on I-40. That red dust is like red talcum power. Not like sand, but like red talc.

Thats all for now. Will not post on this thread again, unless I remember something that is important.
