  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just installed these and they work great and no hyperflash due to built in resistor.

Thats funny bc I just ordered these last weekend and got hyperflash even after I re-pinned (swapped +/- wires) the connector. One of the reviews actually had a Genesis and they stated no hyperflash, or mentioning polarity switching. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So currently scouting new 1157 lights. I was thinking of going with the GTR Lighting carbide 2.0 since they say 95% of vehicles don't need a resistor due to their rating. I'd prefer not to run separate resistors if at all possible.

See my post for maker of LED. These have a box on them that include an inline resistor that prevents hyperflash. The ones you bought do not. These are plug and play.

Have you checked out hot the case gets? I assume you have to install them inside the housing, right?

I left them on for 20 minutes straight and they got slightly warm but not hot. Yes, i have them inside the light housing.

Don't use the GTRs for any running lamp function, they are expressly not designed for it. They even include this little blurb at the bottom of their sales listing:

If the bulbs stop working it means they got too hot and the protection circuit shut down. Please try to cool them down for 2 minutes and try again to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Turn Signals / Blinkers
  • Back Up / Reverse Lights

There just isn't enough material on that lamp to dissipate 24w of anything. If you're going for high wattage lamp you're looking at something the size of the VLEDs Triton.

I opted for a set of the new Lasfit ambers. They seem to have good reviews and there's plenty of space to use them in our housings. I have a '16 so they don't need to be a dual function/switchback LED.

I'll updatemwith my own thread if I'm happy with them.
