  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Obviously LEDs are superior to Halogen headlights my question is are there LED bulbs available for my 2016 Genesis with the Ultimate package and what are the costs?

Putting LED drop-in bulbs into the halogen headlights will not be superior. The optics of the headlights are designed to produce a specific beam pattern based on a specific light source. Changing the shape, size, or position of that light source will drastically affect the beam pattern.

You can replace the entire headlight assembly with the KDM full LED headlights. A couple of people have done it, and there's a large thread (I believe it's in the Lighting and Appearance sub-forum). They're not cheap (around $2,000 IIRC), and I haven't seen any data whether they're objectively better (LED headlights are not necessarily better than HID or halogen).

Several people have commented that their headlights appeared to be aimed low from the factory. I recommend finding a body shop with an optical beamsetter to verify the aim (most accurate method). If you can't find one, you can check the aim yourself using this procedure. This thread shows the location of the adjusting screws.

an ultimate would have the Xenon HID not halogen. OEM HID will be much brighter than any aftermarket LED bulb replacement. drop in LED replacement will not only be less bright but also likely mess up the beam pattern as previous poster said.

I'm with this guy, ultimate package already have HIDs.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Aaa'HA!!
Teach me to jump on a story heard on the local news, suppose that would be true replacing standard incandescent bulbs. Been busy replacing all my old household bulbs with LEDs. Lol.

A better question for the Genesis might be LED vs HID. Dynamic beam shaping is possible only with LED and will take over the headlamp role in cars very soon.

Yea LED is way to go, except BMW and AUDI I believe are developing laser headlight so we will see how that goes. If anything look up the Audi active matrix led lights on youtube, some really cool stuff.

Here are a couple of other things you can do to improve your vision at night:

1. Dim your dash. The dash lighting on these cars is insanely bright. I keep mine dimmed to 1 for nighttime driving.

2. If you normally drive with your fog lights on, turn them off for normal driving. They add a lot of light right in front of the car, which can impair your distance vision.
