  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone here have advice or experience going through the"Lemon Law" process (I live in Utah BTW and realize the laws differ per state)? I started a claim today through BBB Auto Line (this is where the Genesis Warranty information directs you to go).

My car has been at the dealer for 2 weeks for this issue: Several sensor failures and other electronic functions not working.

They still have no fix or root-cause for the issues identified.

Between the 2 weeks it's been in the shop already and the time its been in the shop for other issues, I'm over 30 days total in just the 4 1/2 months I've owned it. My understanding is that 30 cumulative days of being in the shop qualifies it in Utah as Lemon. I have zero confidence given the issues it's had that even if the current issues are resolved that this won't continue to have additional problems.

I love the GV70 electrified and just want them to replace it with a new car.

Came to inquire about the same thing, different issue though. Law in Florida says you have to send a registered letter to get the process started, but I don’t know where to send it other than their main address in California.

Last December I bought my wife a KIA EV. It left her stranded 3 time because of a problem with the 12 volt battery. The last time, the dealer had it for 5 weeks but didn't find the problem. It's going back to KIA under Maryland Lemon Law. I used an attorney that does Lemon Law nationwide:

My car has been at the dealer THREE months for rear differential replacement.

Have you tried asking Genesis to swap?. I had a similar experience with a BMW and finally went into the dealership with two letters: one to BMW and one to the GM of the dealership declaring I am initiating the Lemon Law in Arizona. The service manager told me he agreed with me and asked me to give him an hour to speak with BMW. I did, he did, and BMW agreed to buy it back. The buyback included an adjustment for my usage to that point but, at least in my case, I thought it was a fair adjustment. I then took the agreement and ordered a new and upgraded BMW to my specs. I kept that 5 series car for five years before trading it in for the GV60P (I would have stayed with the BMW family if the iX and i4 weren't so butt ugly).

Of course, my effort may have been aided by my pointing out that I am a retired litigator more than willing to try my own case.

Having a lawyer that does only lemon law made the process pain free for me. It was a free consult and KIA paid for his services. His contact info is posted above.
