  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Letter to Hyundai customer service.

Is this tire issue - noise, physical movement, or both? I work out of the house, Gen would typically sit a lot have frequent short trips, and periodic road trips. How big a deal is this? Anyone have a link to an audio file of the sound it makes? Thanks

No noise. Just physical vibration in the steering wheel also occasionally felt in the seats. It's mild.

I have seen several people mention this, so I assume it is normal (although not a good excuse).

I guess if I were buying a racing car, or sports car I would be more accepting of this. However for me, the gain in performance in hairpin turns or cruising at 90 mph not very important. If it is substantially better as far as braking, hydroplaning, endurance, that would be important, if there were no good alternatives tires at comparable cost. Otherwise kind of like each time you turn on your new 4k LCD after it is off for a day and waiting 10 minutes for a good video image.

Good analogy.

Vibration while driving

I have approximately 2500 miles on 3.8 AWD, and also experience the mild vibration in the steering wheel and seat. I live in New York where there have only been 2 or 3 days above freezing since I've owned the vehicle. The intensity of the vibrations changes as I drive and seems to be effected by different road surfaces. When I originally test drove the car, the vibration was severe for several miles, and the salesmen blamed the vibration on snow in the rims.

For those who experience the same sensation, are you convinced it is a tire issue and not some other mechanical problem. Has anyone successfully eliminated the problem. I'm definitely frustrated by this issue.

May also be because you live in a warm climate.

I agree, but others in Florida are complaining.

I must be lucky, no problems with the sun roof, no vibration from the tires and no need for service in the first 6 months of ownership.

I wonder if these issues are "internet" issues or if a significant percentage of owners have the problems.
