(Note that this includes a standard CD and a DVD-Audio of the same music, so you can listen to it everywhere!)

My guess, after reading HERE is that it would work. Try to borrow one and test it out. Remember, it's only audio. DVD-A has video as well, and most of the titles in this thread are of live concerts which are very cool. My pref is DVD as I play them in both the car & home theater.

Just noticed that Blockbuster online also carries the DVD-A discs! Just added about 20 of them to my queue..

Those aren't DVD-Audio discs. Those are DVD discs of musical performances. DVD-Audio is a distinctive format that offers much higher resolution sound that is found on CDs or standard DVDs. Most DVD-Audio discs also carry a standard DVD-video soundtrack so they can be played on non DVD-Audio DVD players, but a true DVD-Audio player (as is found in the Genesis) brings out the amazing sound quality and dynamic range of the DVD-Audio disc.

I've been looking all over for some DVD Audio discs to play in the Gen. Besides renting, do you have some suggestions on where to buy?

You are right.. some of them are not.. but a few seem to be the DVD-A type, like the Eagles concert referenced above. I wish they showed the format, indicating DVD-A designation.

He said he played XM, I have to agree I am totally underwheled with XM. It sounds so hollow and "tinny", would rather listen to AM. They have crammed so many stations down that pipe the compression is so high that the sound resolution just completely SUCKS, maybe with the new t-63 update it will sound better.

HOWEVER, the Stereo, especially Eagles Music DVD with DTS, no other way to explain it better than to say you FEEL it. Totally amazing. Nothing else like it. I dowloaded a DTS demo disk that has all these clips like from Star wars and stuff like what they play at Fry's and Home Theratre stores etc to show off, it is INCREDIBLE. Know I know why DTS is such a big deal.

I have gone back through and redownloaded all my Ipod songs to the highest available quality cuz it sounds soooo much better. Its like NOT watching Football in High Def. Once you go there, you never want to go back!
