Please Read Rant below If you could like to know more about Music and the G70's Lexicon system:
The Tinny is caused by the DSP when you set QLS (Quantum Logic Sound) to Audience (most noticeable tinnies) somewhat when you set it to Onstage . Clari-Fi and bad source of music will also cause it due to Clari-Fi trying to imperfectly restore the high frequency mainly (high frequencies use up the most bit rate to store) that were lost.
If anyone of you ding dong's is commenting on this post and are using bluetooth (320 kbps), Sirius xm (192 kbps) or the radio(96) y'll should just throw grains of salts with your post cause that's literally what it is.
The source is the first thing please be using aux, or usb cable otherwise the audio the quality and the sound your hearing is already tempered and impacted. CD and USB Quality files will play up to 1.5 Mega bits per second of quality thus it will tax the system for what it truly is and what it can sound like.
Either way the G70 Lexicon system is already a compromised and uses less amp channels ( 11 vs 12), less speaker (15 vs 17), lower quality speakers (only mid center, smaller sub-woofers), and a weaker amp rated at 660 watts vs 900 from g80 /g90 (basically same system except for placement of speakers) when compared with with it's big brothers. You have the same sound acoustic engineering being applied to a dumbed down cost cutting system. You will have tinnier treble and mid and lack of bass. This system is flat compared to g80 / g90.
Recommended Setting For Decent Sound Experience :
Listen via USB or Aux
Have CD 320 + KBPS Quality Source of Music
Clari-Fi On
QLS : Onstage or Off
Treble : -3
Midrange : +7 (Gotta offset the high frequency's right)
Bass : +5
Closing Point : You will probably never be satisfied with the Bass or Output of the G70 Lexicon System it's in about the same class as BMW Harman Kardon and one class below Audi's B&O.
Agreed that the term 'ding dong' is over the top, but other than that, he said what I said earlier. You need to pay attention to the source. My Astell and Kern plays high resolution files (including DSD) and plugged in with the aux cable it sounds outstanding. Best 'factory' based system I've personally heard. I haven't plugged into a G80 or G90 though, and I'm sure that based on what I've read here it's even better. You want to hear a sucky system, try out the Acura's lol.Even if it was a tease...it was his 1st or 2nd post. So a bit more of an introduction would have been better perceived.
Personally...ding dong offends me. It is too close to dingleberries in my book...and I have to deal with those hanging off my dog's ass way too often![]()
The sound system isn't perfect, not by any means. I've seen, and heard, home speakers that cost more than the G90 fully loaded, and even those don't sound perfect (but they sound very nice just the same don't get me wrong). But if you have the right source, and dial it in to your ears, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this sound system, and it is way better than average. Not saying it's the best, or there isn't better factory systems out there, but there's nothing here to complain about IMO.
