  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lift for my G70

Does it require 4" thick concrete? I have no idea how thick mine is but I'm guessing it's less than 4...
Yes Sir. 4 inch is minimum and 5 is recommended. You can drill a few test holes with a small concrete bit to figure out your depth. Your anchors need to bottom out to start the expansion process so you don’t want to punch all the way thru the foundation. I still had my foundation plans when my house was built and it stated 3000psi min 4 inch depth in my garage. My builder is my neighbor and he told me they try to shoot for 5 inches minimum. I drilled my holes to 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 and did not punch thru. Anchors are available in expandable type or epoxy in place. I’ve had problems with expanding anchors wanting to slip when your tightening them. The kit comes with expanding type so I bought the specific concrete epoxy recommended for the epoxy type and after I cleaned and vacuumed the hole bores good, squirted epoxy in the bore, hammered each anchor in place and tightened it before epoxy kicked off. I should have a good anchoring system with the epoxy sort of giving me a cushion nothing is going to try to slip. The tensile strength of the epoxy alone is enough to hold the anchors in place.
