In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The footwell lights are "wedge-base" 194/168 bulbs. I removed the lens from the bulbs, which lens seemed to do nothing but dull the light. Then I pulled the bulbs and removed the blue sleeves from each bulb. That helped but not much. Then I installed some PIAA high intensity bulbs which I had from another project. That was another minor increase.

I wondered what LED possibilities were out there that could fit the enclosure without the confines of the lens. I found fitment with "WLDB-WHP4-D Wedge Base Bulbs - Warm white". My footwells are really well lit now. I can find dark objects that are dropped into the footwells. I don't think I want any more light. This is just enough. The bulbs were $11.95 each from superbrightleds.com.

Thanks Rey

I put the regular LED in there and they are good but kind of blueish. On the blaack carpets not bright enough but do go with the blue in the other areas.

I think I may also try your light suggestion as the ground light where warm would definately be better.

Excellent Ray! As many people know, I'm a lighting freak! BTW, Superbrightled's is also the same as my FAV autolumination.com:) The best IMO. Great choice:):)

How did you remove the vanity light in order to replace the bulb? Im worried I'm going to break off tabs or something in the process of trying to pull it out of the headliner.

These made a big differance. They come in 2 packs and suggest you buy at least 3 since you can do the puddle lights under the doors also. ;) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_8097wt_1167

These light up the trunk and glove box extremely well but are a tight fit. http://www.lightdepot.ca/product_info.php?cPath=28_37&products_id=114

2 of these are needed for the plate. http://www.lightdepot.ca/product_info.php?cPath=28_33&products_id=136

Placed an order for the footwell lights. :D
Those trunk lights and plate lights appears to be the same bulb type, is it not?

No not at all. The trunk and glove box lights are small circuit boards with an adapter to hook into the festoon fixture. These boards produce at least twice the light that the bulbs shown for the plate does. The lighting difference is really helpful in the trunk and glovebox. ;)

Very similar to this but with 6 led on the board and obviously smaller.

Ah, I see now.
But why would the circuit board type produce that much more light?
Both of them use 6 LEDs, right?

Anyway, I see how they're different now. Thanks for the clarification.

BTW, I changed out the wedge bulbs under the footwell and all 4 doors.
Took me like 5 min total to replace all of them. Couldn't be happier. :)

How do you remove the rear plate bulbs? Is it accessible from the outside or do I have to go through from inside of the trunk lid?

Thanks,

Dan

There are several different types of led when it comes to output. Brighter stronger variety on the board I linked to. I have underwater lights on my boat. Only 3 leds/bulb but actually produce a real equivalent of a 50 watt halogen spotlight while only drawing 9 watts. Some of the leds out there will really hurt your eyes if you look directly into them, yes they are that powerful.

The plate bulbs come out by removing the screws from the transparent covers from the outside. They are tight to remove but wiggling them a bit will get them out. ;)

Here is a cool/inexpensive place to get led bulbs. All household variety however. http://www.ledliquidatorsinc.com/cat-mr16.php

Put BLUE LED in the footwells to match the BLUE lighting- I like it.

I got "cool white", and it matched the interior lights pretty well.
I'm not too fond of the bluish lights, even the dash lights of ours. :(
I wish they were white like the cluster.

Dan

You want cool white if you want to match the stock dome light. Blue will be to blue and not give off much light in comparison to the same wattage cool white.
