Liquid Glass Question

I have a Sterling Blue 4.6. I did a clay job first, then polish then put four coats of Liquid Glass on top. I had never used Liquid Glass before and am not sure what my expectations should be. After two months, nothing will slide off the hood. Usually my indicator as to if I still had a good coat of wax or sealant still on the car.

I heard such good comments about Liquid Glass that I expected that the surface would still be "smooth as glass".

What are other peoples experience with this product.

Liquid Glass is a great product and there is also a spray that you can use in between coatings. One thing that will eat away at your LG is automatic car washes. Do you hand wash your car with a sponge, or do you go thru automatic washes?

I have a pearl white Genesis and after I hand wash my car it gleams. I have 3 coats on my Genesis with maybe 3 in between spray applications.

I will admit though, now that my schedule has become super busy, I don't have time for hand washing. I'm not doing Liquid Glass any favors by going through a touchless or conventional carwash.

I have used Liquid GLass for almost 20 years. It is the only product I use anymore. As good as any product is, after two months, enough contaminates from raods, exausts, acid rain, etc. land on your paint finish to eliminate that super smooth feeling. Liquid Glass is still protecting your paint, but, it is holding the contaminates. Also, claying will mostly remove the coats of Liquid Glass. I applied Liquid Glass to my car about 3 months ago, and the water is still beading up nicely, although it no longer has that "just washed" smoothness. What you are experiencing is normal IMHO.

STILL the best product I've ever used. I too use the spray every now and then, but use LXR in between.

Zaino, Mothers, Auto Glym, Adams, Meguires, Liquid Glass and I am sure there are others. I don't know if there is a best wax. I know that there are some that are utterly worthless. I think that the best wax is the one that gives you the best feeling about how your car looks vs the amount of time you have to "caress" the finish. It seems that every blog has a favorite wax. Some require very little in the way of application time and others take so much effort that there is no time to use the car and get it dirty. I do know however that any machine car wash is a disaster to the finish, even the touchless ones. Among professional detailers, Zaino, Adams and Meguires seem to be the most widely used and given enough time, produce truly outstanding results. Professionals also use machines to produce these results and most home shops do not have a good heavy duty buffer. These, in the right hands can make almost any finish look spectacular and in the wrong hands can quickly destroy one as well. So, most are left with a hand applied finish restorer that gives good shine within the limitations of our ability to apply it in a reasonable amount of time. I have found that none of them ultimately prevent the airborne gunk that only clay removes from ruining our just waxed look.

I've started using a product called Rejex. It is supposed to bond with the finish of the vehicle. So far, so good.

Rejex is great stuff for protecting against Lovebugs. Just hose them off. But it goes bad in the bottle. So, use it quickly.
