  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I’m interested in recent purchases during this supply chain hell.

Unless you need a new ride ASAP, I would say wait 'em out. Certainly, above MSRP pricing will go away except in rare cases.

I paid exactly MSRP on a 2.5T 2021 G80 Prestige. I was ok with that because of the 0% APR and the fact I had to get out of my other vehicle due to health reasons, plus I got about 90% of the value back on my trade so I walked in with 35k equity to start.

The dealer where I got my 2022 G80 from had a $5000 markup......I was able to get that taken off, but nothing beyond that. Ended up getting it for MSRP...which is ridiculous, but this is the time we're living now. And my existing car was totaled...so I had no choice. I was told by coworkers and others that I did good getting it for MSRP. Since everyone is marking up now. Still not convinced, but what can we do..

Curious what state you are in?

I’m in NY. I bought my G80 in March. My neighbor has a car off lease in November and he’s in the market for one right now.

I live in Louisiana and bought mine from a dealership about 3 hours south of me near the coast since our local genesis dealer has had zero stock for a while.

Just crazy. I heard that Volvo was cutting safety features out of 2022’s because of the chip shortage.

I can't imagine they would cut features, perhaps just reduce inventory. Volvo is very proud of that top notch safety rating and probably aren't eager to let it slip just for volume. It's their primary selling point after all.

I did see BMW was not offering the HUD on some models. Before cutting goodies, I'd buy an Elantra over a stripped down "luxury" car.

Well done. Which dealer in NJ? I have a buddy that just paid $2K over sticker for a Sonata in northern NJ. Absolutely insane.

I've never been a fan of the BMW HUD myself, it always seems on the verge of being too weak to really see effectively. My father has a X5 and I just turn it off when using his car because it's more of an annoyance.

I've never been a fan of the BMW HUD, it always feels too weak. My dad is a dyed-in-the-wool BMW guy and on his last 3 I always turned the HUD off when I borrowed them because they were just an annoyance.

i just found the article . It’s from Automotive Daily:
Elsewhere, Volvo has confirmed that the shortage of semiconductors has forced it to scale back the features of its Driver Awareness pack on the XC60 in the UK as well.

“This package contains BLIS (Blindspot Information System) with Steer Assist, CTA (Cross Traffic Alert) with Autobrake, and RCWM (Rear Collision Warning and Mitigation),” said a Volvo Car UK spokesperson. “The XC60’s high basic safety standard is not affected.

Wow i would have never expected that from Volvo, that’s the foundation of their selling point.

I know them - years ago, I was shopping for an Azera and went down there as they had the exact one in stock that I wanted. Couldn't close the deal though and wound up finding one elsewhere.
