  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

List of things the 2013 Genny needs.

1. Sunroof that opens/closes via the keyfob. It's a feature on Audi that allows the heat in the car cabin to escape before you get to you car and allows you to close the sunroof after you depart the vehicle.

2. Remote engine start from the keyfob.

3. Six speed tranny. The eight speed tranny has too much lag/hesitation in the two lowest gears.

4. I also would like to see the panoramic roof as has been incorporated into the 2013 Azera.

Yes - thank you midnightsun. I read this in the manual as well, but it would be nice to be able to manually fold these like in my previous cars when washing (BMW, Acura).

1 blind spot monitor
2 steaming audio on their high end Lexicon
3 NAV voice command to just speak destination rather than entering on line at a time.
4 ability to adjust how long headlights stay on after turning off motor.
5 auto open/close power mirrors
6 larger center console
7 improved city gas mileage
8 updated interior
9 radio preset buttons near radio for passenger access
10 Loaner cars from service department
11 electronics warranty that's longer than 3 years

I miss the mute button I had on my Azera. You know, so I can hear the cop when he asks for my license and registration, pass pleasantries with the toll booth operator, and order triple chocolate malts at the drive-in!:)

Bring back the Sterling Blue paint color. We love our 2010 Sterling Blue and frankly, the limited colrs would cause me to look at other cars although we love our Genesis.

A gas cap cover that is automatically unlocked when the car is unlocked. It should be controlled by the keyfob.

We are mostly spoiled rotten with features in the Genny but there are a few things I would like to see added or modified. Let's make a list here, who knows, maybe Hyundai is watching?

Automatic folding side mirrors
Cooled passenger seat
8 way passenger seat with lumbar suport
Blid spot indicators in the side mirrors
Trunk that actually opens up when the remote is pushed or electric open
Option to select smart cruise on/off
Option to select nanny control on/off
Panoramic roof

Most of these are on the 2012 Azera I believe :) Not positive, but I'm going to drive back to back the Azera and 12 Genesis in a couple of weeks.

I found everything worked fine in my 2010 except I did have the amp changed under warranty as my voice commands froze up. The amp swap corrected it.

From what I have read on BMW, your electronics will be fine but the rest is gonna be serviced/repaired much more frequently than the Genny, Good luck with the BMW.

I hope the 2013 model comes with owners that can write sentences using correct punctuation and grammar, and oh, I don't know, multiple paragraphs?

You know, instead of one giant, incoherent rant...

IMHO AWD or 4WD does nothing while travelling or stopping in slippery conditions. It sure make on heck of a difference on take off though. Agreed, most think they are safe because of AWD or 4WD, not so however. Put it this way, if the Genny did have AWD then the nanny would hardly ever engage and we would not have discussions on how to disable it :D

AWD does not help lead to a fast start. If one wheel slips it transfers the power to the next wheel that can attain grip. If all that power cannot find a wheel to transfer it too, it transfers all of that torque and power to the trans. Not good. AWD takes draws on the HP and actually brings it down. I drove a Subaru for 8 years and have seen how stupid people can be trying to launch or push AWD cars from a stand still. BYE BYE Tranny!!

What about the Subarus' without traction control? I know my brothers Legacy GT spins all 4 wheels in the snow or ice with enough throttle. Once the Genesis is paid off, I plan to purchase a Legacy GT limited.

I have always understood Subaru's to have a symmetrical AWD system meaning it will send power to the wheel with the most grip. I think the reason they all slip on snow and or ice is just that the diff/trans is sending power to each wheel and spinning it as it keeps searching for grip. Thats why they are so much fun in the snow. I do not know the Legacy Gt as well as the WRX/STi. I traded my 04 WRX (that I spent time building for autocross) for my Genesis...Upgraded a ton, but kept it clean. I would have kept it if I could have found some way to convince my wife:rolleyes:

Anyway, not to take the tread in another direction, I absolutely love the Rear wheel drive on the Genesis. I think it has a fun quality to it as well! I can understand the want for AWD on the Genesis, but that's why we have a Pilot!

Took the words out of my mouth!!!

I am not. Understanding of which, you speak. Please to explain cant, you?
Damn you... you made me LOL at work with other people in my office.

XD

My wish list for the R-Spec model:

1) SMG transmission with Paddle shifters
2) Electronically selectable transmission aggressiveness settings (i.e. sport and standard modes)
3) Electronically selectable suspension aggressiveness modes (you know, because the handling is not 'back breaking' enough :-P )
4) Less restrictive exhaust system (not too loud)

I don't care if these are options or standard. And to reiterate, I would want these only for the R-Spec model.

For all the models I would like to see the blind spot warning system and the cooled and fully adjustable passenger seats.

Also, I love my car the way it is and I would not trade up to this hypothetical new model as I tend to purchase and keep my cars for a long time.

Cheers!

Midnight Sun, hold the trunk release down for a couple of seconds and the trunk will pop open. They probably have a safety delay on the trunk release in the event of an accidental push of that button.

**** Sorry Midnight Sun.. I will leave my post as originally stated, but I miss read what you said. Yes, I agree it would be nice if the trunk opened up rather than just unlatching. they need some type of spring mechanism.
