  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

One of the reviews I watched on YT mentioned that Genesis dealers don't discount the price - MSRP is the price, period.

I somehow doubt that, but can someone in the know comment on it?

That may be true in Canada as they don't use dealers and go direct. US is much different. I've bought two Genesis, both at substantial discounts.

^ yeah, that's the model up here - direct from Genesis Canada. the list price is all-inclusive and is 'set'. whether or not a buyer can deal on that number is up to them and their negotiation skills i suppose. nothing's impossible.

That's just for Canada. It'll be different in the US, I'm sure. I mean, assuming it ever comes out.

No, it's literally impossible. The Canadian distributors aren't party to the transaction and therefore cannot dictate the pricing. The only items they can build into the deal need to be pre-approved and already in the web portal. Any discounts offered are part of national programs and available to any qualifying buyer (some are exclusive, i.e. loyalty). The only exceptions are demonstrator units, which are sold as used cars at a discount but ineligible for new vehicle incentives, leasing, or subvented finance rates.

Wow, so you guys in Canada are pretty much paying MSRP? Is the MSRP lower than in the U. S.?

The MSRP is pretty competitive here in Canada, so paying a ‘set price’ isn’t such a bad thing. A 3.3T Sport (the highest trim) is CAD $57,500 (before taxes, but PDI and everything else included), which converts to a little over $44,000 USD.

I really like this model. It’s simple and no hassle.

My experience is that it’s hard to reliably compare the online pricing of a G70 with the actual price of an Audi, Mercedes or BMW, because inevitably when you walk into those dealerships and get an actual bill of sale, there are so many hidden costs included. Obviously you can negotiate a lot of them away, or at least down, but again, this was never an issue with the Genesis. I payed exactly what was on the website.

Thanks, thedisbeliever. There's something to be said for fixed price merchandising.

Same feeling here bruh, no bs no haggling, saves me time and headache. As long as I think the car is priced fairly, I have no problem with no being able to haggle on the price. If you trade in your car, you can haggle on the trade in.

Add to this the infamous "dealer fee" that here in South Florida is the highest in the country at around $799 - $999.

^ all i can say is that purchase price reductions (perhaps called 'loyalty' credits?) and financing discounts are possible...and i assume they would indeed be available to any qualified buyer / GXM who is able to effectively work with Genesis Canada on the deal.

The Canadian price for a fully loaded 3.3T Sport AWD is $57,500 CAD (~$44,400 USD via direct conversion). I wish the direct conversion pricing were true. Correct me if I'm wrong, when I visited genesis.ca, the maintenance/valet service was $1,700 add-on, but it's included in the US price. Would it be possible to negotiate the maintenance plan out of the US price?

No, 5 years of maintenance is included in that Canadian price, as is freight.

I see. I was looking at the Appearance Protection package for $1750. Thanks for the clarification.
