  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I drove a Genesis 2009 to 200K until it was totaled in a parking lot accident 3 weeks ago. I am now looking at 2015 Genesis V8 8K mileage asking $32K and an 2015 Equus Ultimate with 32K mileage asking $34K.

Please help me with your wisdom. What would you pick, and why. Thank you.

I would pick the V8 over the Equus, but my needs may be different than yours. Less miles, less cost and it fits my needs.
The Equus is more luxurious car and also a pretty good value, but let me give you more of my reasoning and see how it fits with your needs. The rear seat has more space, more features but rarely used. 98% of the time it is two of us and the extras like rear vanity mirrors would never be used. If you often have back seat passengers, especially on long trips, the Equus may be the better choice.

I almost bought an Equus..but decided on the Genesis 5.0 Ultimate which is essentially the same vehicle except for some upholstery upgrades.

It's an ULTIMATE piece of garbage.
It's being towed in right now for the 3rd time in 60 days.
1. Wiring...electronic steering failed
2. Sunroof stuck in open
3. Lane Assist locked and steering locked

This vehicle is a financial disaster for me; a lemming and actually extremely dangerous to drive given it's propensity for steering fail/lockup. After I get it out of Hyundai this time, I will likely sell the car...had it less than one year; however, my wife is afraid to drive it and frankly, I can not trust it.

The 2015 Genesis is a second generation rendition. The 2015 Equus is a first generation. Chassis enhancements on the 2015 Genesis made chassis much stiffer and handling much better. The trim on the Equus is another level higher than on Genesis - leather, steering wheel, sound deadening, etc.
