  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking at trading my 2012 for a 2015 with the 3.8, Signature Package and the Tech Package. Any new 2015 owners with any feedback re: handling, performance, glitches, etc.?

Thanks for any help.

Just sent you a PM... Let me know if you have any questions.

IMO, after a thorough test drive of the 2105, I think if you already own a Genesis, you won't gain enough buying a 2015 to be worth the cost. The 2015 is unquestionably a nice car, but to me it's not enough nicer than pre-2015 to justify the purchase (in addition to which I much prefer the pre-2015 styling). Just my opinion FWIW.

I would never buy a car in it's first year of production. Unless your 2012 is letting you down in some way, I would recommend enjoying it for as long as possible. Of course, some folks need a new car whenever their ashtray is full.

For giggles, I priced checked a RWD 2015 Genny 5.0 using Edmunds (no ultimate pkg). It's about $8,000 higher than what I paid for mine. It doesn't have $8,000 more features.

The 2015 took a leap in price and I understand that would turn people off. I enjoy my 2015. I feel its a better car and there have been no electronics glitches. If you personally feel there is value in the 2015 even at a higher price, then buy the car. That is what I did. So far no regrets.

Have 1000 miles on same car u r looking to buy...I am very satisfied with my choice...Looked at all the "luxury" cars very carefully and the Genesis is a great value if u can live without the "badge status"...
Ride is great and performance more than enough for me...
Haven't had need to take into dealer but I think that may prove to be a bit of problem since I am used to getting a pretty nice personalized servicing from my Caddy dealer and seems the Hyundai service experience may not be as nice..
Have a few minor squeaks and rattles but nothing real bad and I am learning to live with the squeaks...
The main reason I bought was the Genesis is the safest sedan on the market...According to the Website "informed for life" it is about 50% safer than mercedes E class which is next best for safety..
Only problem I have which I will have dealer try to fix is when go over a real bumpy road( Brick paved road) the blindspot alert goes off when it shouldn't..Spoke with someone from dealer and they said could be a minor or major problem,,But they will have to figure it out..
Overall 4 1/2 out of 5 star rating...
Hope this helps u,,,Good luck...

...and I am learning to live with the squeaks...
If the warranty is open to fixing squeaks and rattles, use it! I've brought mine back a handful of times for minor rattles that my wife never noticed. Perhaps I'm overly sensitive to these kinds of sounds, but when spending this much money for a luxury car, it should be as close to perfection as possible, at least when new.

I am still pestered by a rattle somewhere under the car when the transmission goes into overdrive at low rpms. Brought it back to the dealer 4 times so far and they can't seem to find it. They replaced the X pipe/resonator yesterday, but it didn't fix it.

Wet shopping and bought a white 3.8 with both he Tech and Signature Pakages along withwheel locks, cargo tray, 3M tinted glass and lifetime Nitrogen for the tires. Manufacture date was October 11, 2014 To save anyone asking I traded my 2012 in and gave $22,100 +TTL.

We traded in my wife’s 2011 with tech a while back it was really a nice car but couldn’t resist all the added features and refinement of the 2015.

Excellent choice!
The 2015 Genesis ride characteristic is very similar to my wife's 2014 Benz E350. They both feel very solid and comfortable. They are equally quiet on the freeway. The Genesis 3.8 V6 engine sounds better than the E350 V6.

In my opinion, the 2nd gen Genesis is definitely worth the extra dough compared to the 1st gen.

I was comparing a new '14 R-spec (~$40K) to a '15 3.8 with Tech package (~$46k).

'14 R-spec is faster and cheaper than '15 3.8 w/ Tech package. But, '15 has much better seats (w/ seat extender) and interior.

I'm going w/ the '14 R-spec for now as it's got the power I'm looking for and the fact that '15 is in its first year of production. If I could have the upgraded seats in the '14, it would be the perfect car!

Good choice. And it is a choice.. Nothing like the V8 on a solid chassis that is 400-500lbs lighter than the Ultimate (and lighter than the V6).

I would go for the 2015 and I understand upgrades have been made , but Hyundai has lost part of its edge buy raising prices and eliminating a lot of the rebates. I would say the 2015 is actually about $8k more than its predecessor everything considered. Oh, I also prefer the old styling. Thanks

If you like it, buy it. If you dont like it, then dont buy it. Emotions and desire for a 'better' vehicle play a big part in our choices for new and old cars. There are a ton of reasons to buy it or not. For me it was the ride and confort of the 2009 and 2012 rspec that moved my decision to purchase the 2015 Ulitmate. Once I did I havent looked back. The ride and comfort of the 2015 is superior to any previous Genesis built. The looks are questionable for me, but not substantial enough for me not to move forward. Im not fond of how much closer the Genesis is aligned with the other Hyundai models in looks, but here I am with a brand new 2015 and loving it.

Good points Seattle. For me except for the front-end the rest of the car is just so bland. My opinion, others may differ.

That and my 2013 hasn't even been truly been broken in yet (21 months old and only 4700 miles).
