Looking at winter tire packages GV60P - 18" or 19"?

With the overnight temps going consistently below freezing, I swapped my stock wheels and tires for my winters last weekend and took a 1200 Km road trip. I am super happy with the handling of the Michelin Alpin 5s on wet and dry pavement (no snow yet, just cold temps) and they were shockingly quiet. I am also happy with the overall look, clearly more rubber and the the OEM wheel package, but not too "dune buggy". these are 255/55 R19s.

Was dying to know what a 255, 19" wheel looked like and can't thank you enough for posting this! I may go down to 19" wheels and wanted to keep the same width. Glad to hear it's working well for you!

Looks great, IMO! Are you're range gains as noticeable as Jason Fenske purports it may be?
Yes. In 'perfect conditions'... flat road, dry, speed 65mph, no headwind, car not packed with people/objects, etc., my overall miles on a 100% charge increased by about 20 miles. However.. for me, the greatest gains were in comfort. Noise decreased. Ride improved. No loss in handling (the way I drive).

Fantastic to hear! I don't get too wild in the corners anymore, and having the same width of 255 will probably yield pretty similar handling and come down to tire choice more. Excited to add some range, nevermind the comfort and noise gains!
