  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,
I am new here but I have been reading a lot of the posts and love this forum. I was saving up to buy a slightly used Genesis G70 2.0 but my current car is having transmission issues and I think it is time to move on to a newer car. I narrowed my search to the G70, I love evrything about this car and hoping I can get a great deal. I started to email a few dealers around me to see what deals they have and also posted on Edmunds to get the MF, RV, and Incentives. How can I get the Circle A pricing in this forum? I read there is a really nice guy here (r_spec I think is his user id) that can get it but not sure how to contact him.
I am really desperate as I do not know how long my car will last and I am afraid I will end up just getting any other car if I dont find a good deal on a Genesis.
Thanks in advance!
Rob

I believe there's a 15 post limit to PM someone... I'm in the same boat you're in, looking for Circle A, but I'm not in as much of a rush so I'm just letting the post count evolve naturally.

If it ends up that you can't work the G70 into your budget, I just sat in a new Sonata and they're pretty damn nice. (y)

Thanks for the reply. How does the post count work? Do I need to post 15 times or does a reply to a thread count as a post? The Sonata is my backup plan. I am looking at a 2018 Sonata Sport with the 2.0T engine for 16K. Definitely that the same as the Genesis but the payments will be way down so I would be able to pay it off quickly. I just have to hurry, don’t want to get stranded specially when having my daughter with me.
Thanks again and good luck to you.

Whether you start a thread or reply, it should count towards your post count, if it's anything like the multitudes of forums I've been on, haha

Actually, this is my 15th post, so I guess this will be a real-world test, haha. Results: Still not able to PM. Oh well... Maybe it's 25 posts.

Its a secret. Really. There is an algorithm that counts posts, replies, etc. Designed to prevent spamming of members. We jut know it exist, not the details.

Some owners have gotten an even bigger discount than Circle A. Keep that in mind and continue to work with dealers. That said, don't feel like you have to wait for Circle A to get a good deal. Some dealers (like my local dealer) say they won't even honor it. Anyway, let them know you're 100% down to buy, then give them a price. If they say no, tell them that if they change their mind in the future to get back in touch with you and they'll have a sale with you.

Good luck. I'm in the process of trying to get a new car for my wife (Kia Seltos) and already I've had almost every scummy sales tactic in the book used against me, they are even marking up the prices. So far I've been really pleasant, but firm with them, telling them I won't pay for any markups, but if they want to take those off and work with me on a price that's close to MSRP I'll 100% buy one. So far it seems I'm making progress.

Thanks Todd for the advice. I wish I had more time to shop around more and play the waiting game. Good luck on finding a great deal on your wife's car. Those new Kia Seltos look nice. By the way your Post about replacing the turbo on your new car was really good. I read the whole thing at work and every time someone interrupted me made me mad, I just wanted to get to the last page to see the end result :)

So far I've gotten 2 formal quotes and they seem so high. I thought I had a basic understanding on how the MF and RV comes into play but all those numbers just threw me off. This is for a 2019 2.0T Elite package. The last picture shows it is a Prestige.

^ The dealer should have the same numbers for RV and MF as the info you get off of the Edmunds forum...as those are official numbers. If the dealer is different...they are f'ing with you.

I posted on Edmunds last night but have not yet gotten a response.

This is for the Elite package I am looking for. It is a loaner with 5K miles. Dealer did not disclosed the MF and RV like I asked but the numbers don’t look too bad. Going to look at it and test drive it shortly.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Will you have the 100,000 mile warranty? Valet treatment for service? Three years of scheduled maintenance? Three years of navigation updates? In other words the same treatment as a new car? Has it been titled out of the dealer?
You are in a tight situation as a buyer needing a vehicle and less able to walk from a deal that does not feel right to you. If the money factor is good I think they may go lower. If you can wait a few days and work your magic on them.

The loaners I've bought in the past were sold as new cars, full warranty. I may be off in what they're going for, but $30.5K for that car with 5K miles - if it's sold as new - sounds like a good price to me.

This is something you really want to verify very carefully and get in writing That you are the first owner. Leave no ambiguity.

I asked and all the services mentioned will be included as If it was a brand new car. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sounds like a solid deal to me!
