  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking to buy a 2010

Not to belabor the point, and at the risk of sounding like a poseur, I could have bought a R-spec or something 2-3 times as expensive, and I stand by my assertion that there isn't much difference. Generally, the times listed for a 4.6 are in the 13.8 to 14.1 range and the 2012+ 3.8 in the 14.2-14.5 range. What "difference" you want to call that is up to you.

Thank you for the welcome and the advice during the purchase process. Once I get a chance, I'll probably post more pictures. Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to do the winged badge treatment or leave it stock.

One vote for the wing badge, including the wheel centers.

The issue I've got is that to do the wing badge on the steering wheel, it's a decal. Where I live, that decal would just fall off due to the heat.

Now, if I could just replace the airbag, we might be playing with power.

The "package" on my car included the steering wheel wing that's definitely a bit thicker/more substantial than a decal. It's apparently glued on, but seems to be stuck pretty well. Time will tell I guess.

Sorry for the thread hijack.........

The winged KDM airbag can be purchased online. Once swapped, many people have sold the OEM airbag online.

I notice it has the 18" wheels like the V8, nice. FYI Those wheels use the large waffle center cover if you intend on buying wing wheel covers.

Here is the link to the wheel covers http://sfrusa.3dcartstores.com/18-V8-Wheel-cap-set_p_328.html

From what I can gather, this car is equipped like the V8. It seems like every time I drive it I discover a new feature that I wasn't aware it came with.

Good to know about the 18" wheels. If I can get the Mrs. to authorize the purchase of the Airbag, I'll probably do the conversion in the next few weeks. I don't think I'll do a hood emblem, however.

SFAIK the only thing a tech package V6 is missing that the V8's have is the chrome strip at the bottom of the body. Possibly the lighted step plates, not sure about that.

From the photo it also looks like you have the adaptive cruise with the distance set feature. Is that right? I did not think 2010's had that at all.

We discovered that I do have this feature after I started complaining about the Cruise Control on the way home last night. This car was a gem of a find. It also (appears) to have the Premium Saddle interior, although I will be honest I don't think I could tell the difference.

Here's a question - how does one tell the difference between the regular leather and the "premium" leather. Is there something obvious that sets it apart? I don't have the original sticker from the window, so I am unsure.

Ask your local Hyundai dealer to give you a printout of your car's equipment etc. He has it availible online by VIN.

Local is about an hour away. We had to drive 4+ hours to San Diego to even look at this one.

Re: Looking to buy a 2010 - Please share your experiences

Probably going to give the dealer a call and see if they can't fax or email that list. I'd like to get a view of the total package to see how much of a steal I got the car for.
