  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all. I'm new here and haven't purchased an Equus yet but I just wanted some actual owners opinions. I'm currently considering a 2011 Equus Signature. Its a 2 owner car with a clean Carfax. Its listing for $14,887. Thing is though it has 110,331 miles on it. A plus for me though is that it is for sale at a reputable Mercedes dealership which tells you it was a trade. Is this a good buy though? And no finding one with lower miles isn't an option for me because all the other ones in my area with lower miles are way more expensive. I'm mainly concerned about reliability and repair costs.

Your car may vary. But. I recently traded an 09 genesis same engine/tranny at 268k miles. It's the electronics that begin to fail the engine will go forever with regular maintenance

I have a 2011 Genesis with the same 4.6 v8 and transmission as the equus. I have 198,000 miles on it and have put every one of those miles on her. Great car. As stated the engine and transmission will last many, many miles with the proper maintenance. Beware that the engine does require oem oil filter, any other filter may cause engine damage. Also, if a full transmission service has not been done you will need to have it done right away and the cost is over 700.00 due to the pan/filter replacement cost and cost of special Hyundai ZF fluid. The transmission is the same as what comes in Bentleys, Jags, and large BMW's.

Buy it , you won't regret it and its a good price. I love my 2011 equus which is at 90 thou miles now
