  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The leather on my driver's seat is very loose. It looks terrible! I have (2) 2012 Genesis, one with AC seat and one without. The one with the AC driver's seat is the one with the loose leather. The other car is fine. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the leather seat cover and now it looks worse! They said it will tighten up with use; what BS. What is anybody else doing about this problem?

So I now have 3 different types of leather in my R-spec

Your answer is most likely somewhere in there.

I had the same problem. The dealership hired an upholstery guy to insert some padding between the leather and seat foam. I was worried this would interfere with the function of the seat heating/cooling, but it hasn't been an issue. It's been about a year and I haven't had any issues with it.

Welcome to the Genny world of loose leather driver's seat. I saw a Lexus LS and another Genny at dealer. Looked inside and the driver's seat looked the same. Worn and loose. I think it maybe because seat heater/cooling the way it is installed.
While it was colder outside, the seat went back kind of to normal but now it is warming up out, it is stretching and being loose again.

My dealer also had it sent out to an upholsterer who added additional padding. It still looks good after 3 years. It was done under warranty.

Very common issue with our cars.
Mine started the wrinkle process in less than a year.
Dealership has said this is "the normal aging process of leather" which I think is a total BS.
My S/O's ride, an IS350 still looks tight and straight.
