  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My GV70 is back in the shop, again. Second time for the same issue; an AC system that blows cold air on one side only. First time they did a recharge which worked for a few days, and then right back to where it was. Now they say there's a leak, but they're still looking for it. Honestly, I'm losing faith in this car. Hoping to get it back Monday or Tuesday, and if I don't get the right answers, it's gone.

I don’t know how old your GV70 is but a system that’s low on refrigerant generally has a leak. Hopefully they find it.

No question, but really, a leak on a three year old car? My previous two cars, 6 and 8 years old never needed AC service. They still have it and yes, I'm hoping they can find the leak. Reliability is not this car's strong suit.

I had a leak on a 90 day old car. Had a leak on a two and a four year old. Had a bad compressor along the way too.
AC systems have been a weak link on every car maker over the years.

My last two cars were a Toyota and Subaru. Zero repairs needed on the Toyota, and only one after 8 years on the Subaru, and the AC worked perfectly on both of them for the life of the car. My wife's 8 year old BMW has had zero issues with the AC. Honestly, it's a sealed system. No excuse for a car at this level to have this issue.

Yes, it is a sealed system. That is the cause of the problems. Talk to an AC shop and cars of every level need repairs at times. Seals go, coils go, hoses go. Real life, every day, that is what keep them in business.

Yep. I had my 2013 Pathfinder nine years and my 2014 Maxima ten years and never had an ac problem.

What does that prove statistically?
My house is almost seven years old and not a single lightbulb has gone out.

We gave five examples of vehicles that were multiple years old and never had an AC issue. To me that says it should not happen in a vehicle at the level of the Genesis. I'll get the car back this week, I hope, but I really better hear that the found and fixed the leak. But the problem is I'm losing trust in the car. Fourth repair in less than three years. Unacceptable.

I've owned cars where it was the opposite. If you had multiple repairs, perhaps you need a new repair shop.
There is a reason AC shops stay in business.

I've been taking it back to the dealer.

Don’t bother arguing with a troll.
